'20 TN DE Jay Hardy (Auburn commit)

If Garner is willing to take him after coaching him for two years then I trust Garner. He could easily move on from that one if he didn’t think he was able to play at this level.
Extra credit for calling the man by his own damn name! Twice!

The situation hasn't changed in regard to this year. If Hardy goes the junior-college route, that could maybe make it more realistic for him to end up at Tennessee. But right now I don't see the Vols revisiting that one going into this season. Emerson's and Middleton's departures were hardly unexpected. The strong possibility of those guys leaving was one of the reasons Tennessee wanted to address that position with multiple additions from the transfer portal.

So if he uses his one time free transfer to Liberty then he can't transfer to UT (with immediate eligibility) unless he graduates or gets a waiver.

Weird decision. Juco would have given him a shot at going back Power 5.

Might have read the tea leaves and jumped while the jumping’s good.

Liberty is a nice place with some nice facilities. Hardly can blame a kid for choosing that route over the slums of Juco
