There’s no expectation that four-star Auburn defensive line commitment Jay Hardy of McCallie School in Chattanooga, Tenn., might consider flipping to Tennessee on Wednesday and signing with the Vols. But Tennessee has continued to battle for him down the stretch, and the Vols still are hoping the 6-foot-4, 290-pound Hardy will decide not to sign during the early signing period and give them a chance to continue recruiting him over the next several weeks leading up to National Signing Day in February.
As of now, sources said, Tennessee feels good about the chances of Hardy remaining unsigned at the end of this week.
