I read on the football forum that all these rich old geezers just sat around without cheering? Somebody forgot to tell all these recruits which every single one commented on the crazy loud environment?

There were certainly times I was the only person in my section making any noise at all. Mostly between plays and on 1st and 2nd down, and it was hard to get people going in those moments. And UGA was smart and did a really good job of getting plays in and communicated quickly so by the time the crowd got into it the only thing that mattered was not needing to change the play and getting the snap right.

Also to be fair:
- these kids likely haven’t seen a ton of big football. So 102,000 on any one play is sure to be an experience.
- My girlfriend, a uga fan that’s been to plenty big games, said it was the loudest game she’d ever been to, and I don’t doubt that.

One could say we were very loud and also say we were not as loud as we could be. I thought bama and Florida games last year were louder. My girlfriend disagrees.

But to add context, your girlfriend is Mantei Teo’s ex.

As far as making noise between plays, don’t see the point. My vocal cords have a limited amount of noise making ability and I use them to celebrate a big UT play, sing Rockytop, and to attempt to disrupt our opponent’s offensive the ability to communicate at the LOS to make play adjustments.

My point was uga made very little adjustments. They got the plays in and communicated before going to the line while the crowd was silent. So by time we got loud it didn’t effect communication because there was none. It was a good strategy.
