Not starters; but, Tyre West got a nice run last year (where's he been THIS year?)...Hobbs, Telander, Carter, and Gibson have had good/fair runs this year...and, the aforementioned Squirrel.I really doubt that. This staff has show a propensity to play upperclassmen regardless of talent. Have we started a true freshman anywhere under this staff on either side of the ball?
Nope. I never once said that. I said -I did. My position has been stated. But I'll type slower this time so you can comprehend it:
Every elite high school player does not have a 90+ yard run/return, as you claim. Some do. That's it. That's my position. It's the only one I made and the part of your claim I replied to.
Plenty of those - that’s straight line speed. Which is even more disparate at the HS level.
I never brought up Eric Berry. Not once. Try again.THEREFORE, bringing up the Eric Berry example does not prove that EVERY elite high school talent has a 90+ yard run/return...
No, wrong again. You were the one that implied “special, generational, top 5” players. Not me.which, need I remind you, was your claim.
Exactly. SPECIAL, generational players who become top 5 draft picks do that.
Right, they've all played. Freshman playing here and there is not uncommon, necessarily, especially in blowouts and to fill in for injuries. But I don't believe any of them have started, which was my point about Boo. I have little doubt he'll see time on the field, most likely. I just have doubts that under this staff he will be a starter, and it has little to do with his actual talent. Not starters; but, Tyre West got a nice run last year (where's he been THIS year?)...Hobbs, Telander, Carter, and Gibson have had good/fair runs this year...and, the aforementioned Squirrel.
Jmo, the reason we keep seeing Tank and McDonald, guys like them, Milton too...it's all about loyalty. I don't blame the staff. I believe they convinced all those guys to stay, whenever everyone else was leaving, and they're keeping their word, the staff. They HAD TO convince them, if for nothing else, depth. It has also went a long way in establishing the culture.Right, they've all played. Freshman playing here and there is not uncommon, necessarily, especially in blowouts and to fill in for injuries. I told a buddy something similar, today. It will be interesting to see how things look next year when 90% of the team will be players recruited by this staff.Jmo, the reason we keep seeing Tank and McDonald, guys like them, Milton too...it's all about loyalty. I believe it changes once the McCollough's, McDonald's, Milton's are gone...once we are COMPLETELY on solid ground, with multiple classes under their belt. The best will play, no matter the class, imo. If it doesn't change, it is a terrible flaw of a coaching staff, not playing the best players because whatever reason. I think it will change, or I hope it does...three more games is three too many to continue watching some of these guys. I love em, and appreciate them, but...
Also safety isn’t the easiest position to come in and play right away. Got a lot of reading the offense at that position. There’s only so many Caleb Downs, Malaki Starks, etc and they both already had SEC ready bodies tooRight, they've all played. Funny…you start quoting posts from AFTER the ones I’m replying to, which kind of matters, since that’s the actual subject. Hint: they weren’t all replies to you (like the Eric Berry comment). But yes, we can both go back and read the comments. I’ll quote the relevant chain leading up to my initial reply, since you did not:Oof. You’re spun up six ways from Sunday.
Nope. I never once said that. I said -

You do realize you can go back and read the posts, right?
I don't see how they keep Boo off of offense here. He is just too electric with the ball in his hands.
Every. Elite. HS Player. Ever.
I don't recall every elite defensive player scoring 90+ yd td runs.
At this point, I replied to VolInDayton. I was saying that just because Eric Berry did it doesn’t prove that every elite hs player ever is so electric he will score 90+ yard TD runs.Eric Berry did
I don't think they started, at least early, but Pearce and Josephs got a lot of playing time last year. Some young LBs got good playing time last year, Herring at least did. sampson, white on offense. Not starters; but, Tyre West got a nice run last year (where's he been THIS year?)...Hobbs, Telander, Carter, and Gibson have had good/fair runs this year...and, the aforementioned Squirrel.
Isn't Tank gone regardless of if he wants to be? This season is his Covid year unless I missed somethingYou know damn well
Slaughter, Tank and McDonald gonna come back
My hopes though
- Slaughter comes back
- Turrentine/Thomas takes over at one safety spot
- Get a transfer safety
- Either Ricky or another DB transfer

Agreed, he is not a corner but he'd be a thumper as a Safety or Star. That Kentucky hit still gets me fired upMcCoullough is done. This is us final season.
I never said slaughter couldn’t come back. I said id rather he didn’t come back if we are gonna keep playing him at corner. I don’t think he’s a natural corner.
