GAME OVER

ALL YOUR RUNNING BACKS ARE BELONG TO US

Sab, :worship:

Well, this may have been the most drawn out and overly-dramatic recruiting trail of a single player I've ever seen, and it ended just as ridiculously. I'm glad UT has a talent like Oku, and I wish him the best in buying into the system and helping us win games. Go Vols!

new article:

on Bryce Brown:

"If he comes then he comes and if he don't then he don't," Oku said. "I committed when Jarvis was there and I don't care about competition. I talk to Bryce and he's a good guy, but I hope he don't feel like he is going to come in and run over everyone. I'm not scared of competition and that's the way I am."

I'm telling you guys, what happened was he had Trooper Taylor in one ear and Stan Drayton in the other and it confused the hell out of him. He just needed some time to get his wits about him and the school that made the most sense is the one he chose.

So, Eric. No. Oku is not a racist. :p

Amazing... two coaches who can't touch the staff we have now wrt developing players for the NFL confusing an athlete like that.

Sux... for us, but even more him.

could be wrong about this of course but lets break it down anyway

i think we can all agree that David Oku believes in his heart that he is the most talented back in the '09 class.
That being said, based on his past reactions to different schools courting other suitors, David has reacted brashly--almost out of spite-- towards schools that he wasn't necessarily interested in, but those he felt should be deeply concerned with him.

So, the general consensus on this board and rivals was and is that if Brown came to UT, Oku would leave.

I disagree.

That would be David acting completely the opposite of himself thus far. If he went elsewhere that would make it seem as if he was admitting another back was better, and he could never do that.

So, Oku has two decsions (or had). If Brown went to UT, Oku could commit as well and prove he is better.

or,

If Brown chose to go elsewhere Oku could then stick it to UT and make them regret not making Oku a number one priority.

Just one other note I am really excited to have Oku, I think he's a great back and he was my favorite commit before the coaching change.

Great catch on Oku. Hope the other 2 land here as well. Great class if we land all 3. 15th
to fifth sounds about right. And limited recruiting time. Nice job coaches,
