TN Commit David Oku

If he chooses Auburn or Syracuse......Drayton or Taylor.....over Tennessee and Eddie Gran......then "BEST" of luck to him. He'll need it.

Well, with Drayton and Troop both filling his ears with negative things about their former employer (probable assumption), it would be hard for any high school kid to not begin believing it. They can play the "Trust me. This is what's gonna happen there" card and make it seem 100% plausible.

They are definitely trying to do this... But if Oku really thinks about it. There is a new man in control, so these two really have no idea how the staff will do things. I think that their "inside" knowledge of the UT system really has no founding.

I think Trooper pulls him. Hate to say it, but the fact that he's cut off communication with KNS and VQ makes me wonder.

Troop is probably laying awake at nights thinking about the sweet revenge this achievement would mean to him.

does anyone have any in site on why the turn by OKU? i mean he was solid and now this. is he upset because CLK and company are still recruiting top RB's?

On the surface that sounds like it might be a reasonable concern, but all indicators are that Oku is a competitor, unlike Giles.

The RB's should think about the current USC (real) system as the way CLK may use them. It's not like they aren't sending all those guys to the NFL who have the skills to get there. Those Trojan RB's just keep coming... and they all run the ball enough to highlight their styles while preserving their bodies for the League. Even a workhorse like Jamal could have used even more relief to save himself for the pounding he's taken in the NFL.

You have to remember, Oku committed after we already had a similarly touted RB committed in Jarvis Giles. Competition doesn't scare him. The trip to 'Cuse was a favor for Drayton and he was talked into AU and is going for the free trip IMO. Oku should remain a Vol.

It wouldn't surprise me if he confirms this after his visit.

Anytime there have been rumors concerning him, he has always eventually come out and said "No, I am all Vol". Ex: When the rumors were flying about him decommitting from us and committing to Okla St. I think he will be a Vol in 4 days.

Pic of Oku at Auburn.

Yeah, I am not feeling good about this now. Trooper can close the deal. Plus, the student body is showing him love.

Oku needs to know who made AU, RBU...not Trooper.

An institution may not arrange miscellaneous, personalized recruiting aids (e.g., personalized jerseys, personalized audio/video scoreboard presentations) and may not permit a prospective student-athlete to engage in any game-day simulations (e.g., running onto the field with the team during pre-game introductions) during an official visit. Personalized recruiting aids include any decorative items and special additions to any location the prospective student-athlete will visit (e.g., hotel room, locker room, coach’s office, conference room, arena) regardless of whether or not the items include the prospective student-athlete’s name or picture.

RBU? Please. UT has had more guys that have had recent (last 10~15 years) success in the NFL than Auburn.

Not to nitpick, but a handmade posterboard sign is not a violation.

My guess, also, is that Auburn students made that sign and asked Oku & Trooper to hold it for a picture. Trooper is savvy enough to know the rules.

I miss him at UT.

Just popped into my mind. Wasn't sure. There is an argument but I don't know how the rule is applied. It is a decoration with the recruits name at the arena.

Remember also that these kids we are recruiting are only 17-19 years old, so their respective years of following college football closely only extend back 5 to 7 years.

Then compare the two schools.

Auburn has Ronnie Brown, Brandon Jacobs, Cadillac Williams, Heath Evans, Rudi Johnson, Carl Stewart and Kenny Irons currently active and successful in the NFL. UT has Jamal Lewis and ...... that's it, as far as current rosters are concerned.

This discrepancy makes a big difference. It also speaks volumes as to why Fulmer is no longer coaching.

Can't really disagree with you there. Lot of these kids were 10 years old the last time we were significant nationally, too.

Aren't we forgetting that Auburn isn't the same team that produced all those great RBs... and they don't even have the RB coach that made it all happen. He's here if you guys didn't get the memo. That picture in itself is the perfect recruiting aid for Gran.

unfortunately if Gran were to say he's the reason for that moniker then he would be accused of...."NEGATIVE RECRUITING!"....dunn duunn duunnnnn!
