This weekend Oku will be playing against Booker T Washington High school for the state championship.(the same high school former UT receiver Robert Meachem attended). Carl Albert got smoked by them early this year but thats when they were running the spread. To my understanding they switched back to the I formation and since then Oku has been tearin' it up. I have been told from people back home (im in iraq) that he is been focused and determined and how he craves playing the "big game". That is good news for all of us VOL fans.
found this in the playoff recaps in OK:
"Oku rushed for a massive total of 326 yards and four touchdowns Saturday at Harve Collins Field in Norman to lift Carl Albert to an impressive 47-14 victory over Lawton MacArthur in their Class 5A semifinal."
However, he also had 2 fumbles early in the game.
Midwest City (Okla.) Carl Albert RB David Oku became the fourth Tennessee recruit to drop the Volunteers since the firing of coach Phillip Fulmer, Rivals.com reported. The 5-foot-10, 185-pound four-star running back had committed to the Volunteers a little over a month ago.
"I've been good, just about to start looking at other schools," Oku told Rivals.com. "I don't think Tennessee will get the right coach for me. I'm going to send tape out to 15 different schools that don't run spread. I'm just not really buying into Tennessee's coaching search."
Before committing to Tennessee, Oku had also taken official visits to Louisville and Nebraska, while also considering scholarship offers from Clemson, Florida State and Michigan.
