TN Commit David Oku

Yes I did know...but it was obvious he was looking around which is why I say that.

Gotcha...

But he appears to really like the university itself...and if we indeed are bringing Kiffin in then Oku is bound to be a solid commit again :crossfingers:

I would agree. with a Kiffin offense he could see plenty of action.

• Look for David Oku, from Midwest City (Okla.) Carl Albert, to take his final two official visits before making his decision. Oku was committed to Tennessee but recently de-committed and wants an offense that doesn't run the spread. He already has taken official visits to Louisville, Tennessee and Nebraska, and is sending out senior film to numerous schools. Oklahoma has no interest in Oku, and sources say he's not convinced Oklahoma State's offense is right for him. One thing in favor of the Cowboys – coach Mike Gundy played his high school ball in Midwest City and has a ton of connections in the area. Despite Oku's wish to avoid the spread, don't count out Oklahoma State.

Our RB's will be good. Now if our fattys up front can open a damn hole, we might have a winning season.

Well just remember Trooper is at OSU and has a good relationship with Oku...in the end Kiffin (if hired) and Gerald Jones should be enough to change the waffler's mind. He wants to enroll in school in Jan 09 whereever he lands

Is he considering OSU now? He eliminated them months ago, and I don't think their offense is what he's looking for.

so whats it looking like?? he stated he wanted to play in a pro-style system so does kiffin being hired just about lock him up for us??

I wouldn't worry about Oku. He loves Tennessee and as long as we hired a coach who runs a pro-style offense (which we did), he was never going to look elsewhere. As long as Kiffin likes him and honors his scholarship offer (no idea why he wouldn't), David Oku will be a Vol.

He supposedly has stated he likes the Kiffin hire, but will still visit a couple of school to be sure....it's on Govolsxtra...

Just Looking

David Oku: With Kiffin, the Vols are probably in good shape with this talented tailback from Carl Albert High in Midwest City, Okla.

In a text message to the News Sentinel, Oku said he's staying with UT in light of the Kiffin hire but will take two more official visits to be sure.

Along with Giles, Oku is one of two tailbacks UT had committed who was ranked among the top 100 prospects in the nation.

Oku said he would de-commit if the Vols went to a spread attack coach. Kiffin's pro-style approach should help UT secure Oku.

:)

I really hate losing this kid. Maybe Coach Kiffin can get him back on board, Also Marlon Brown USC has always had big receivers so he could fit in great.

Is Oku officially lost? I thought he was just going to look around some....and that his biggest argument was a fear that we would hire Mike Leach....I think he'll come back into the fold if that's the case.
