TN Commit David Oku

McGuffie will never be a everydown back. Hes got skills but he will mostly see return action and some pt but he wont be the #1, too small.

McGuffie is perfect for Rich Rod. Noel Devine is small but he's a game changer. Plus its the Big 10.

The only thing similar is they are small. Mcguffie is no where near as fast as Devine. You watch their films and you can see the difference. Mcguffie is good but he is not as quick/fast as Devine.

still think they are similar styles but i dont expect him to be as good.
either way, we better get back to oku before the thread police gets us

Gotta rep the 660 and 816 for me ;)

I'll be walking on, and played for crappy 4-A Warrensburg! lol

But yeah.. I want Oku

"Honestly I don't really talk to any of the coaches on the phone," Oku said. "A lot of them are e-mailing me. Every school is e-mailing but Tennessee. I honestly don't talk to them much but Coach (Steve) Caldwell is a laid back dude. I have e-mailed back a few of the coaches and told them I am not really talking to anybody, any schools, because I am working and doing football."

UT is probably running out of room. With Giles and possibly Thigpen, is RB really that big of a need position now?

They don't have any DL or LB commits unless you count Toney Williams. Oliver had over 1400 yards rushing as a JR....

We know that Rufus, Sykes, and Hall tie up 3 of the remaining slots leaving only 5-8 more to fill. They seem to be hoping for one big hitter @ WR and one more OL.... plus probably Rogers and Teague if they'll commit.

The bus is looking full.

No, I think him and Caldwell are close enough that we don't have to hound him every 2 hours for recruiting leverage.

Thigpen projects as a Corner.

According to comments I read from Thigpen, he expects to work out of the back field and be split out. He definitely sounded like he'd been recruited as an offensive player.

I would agree with that. I do not see him being a corner until he fails on O. That was my understanding of his recruitment as well. He is going to add some speed to our O.

If he ends up half the player westbrook is then ill do cartwheels.

He isn't going to be a guy that we can't depend on for legit depth at RB. He may get a few carries a game but he will be utilized in other ways more than likely. Oku, on the other hand, will add legitimate depth at RB which we will need.
