Do we have one?? I can think of 4:Tee, Terry Fair, JB Cooter and Marion Hobby. Anyone else? It seems like we don’t have a huge pool.

Keven Steele

His HC record is bad, but he is a heck of a DC

Also doesn’t Gruden have some Tennessee ties?

Johnny Majors had a big tree. Phil never developed one. He could never pick great assistant coaches for the most part. He just brought Majors staff and rode it into the ground.

From Sports Illustrated:

ā€œFormer NFL quarterback Peyton Manning says he will coach in the future, he told student-athletes at the Middle Tennessee Sports Awards in Nashville on Thursday.

ā€œI do see myself coaching,ā€ said Manning when asked about his coaching future. ā€œI will be a coach.ā€ā€

This may be slightly edited.

that's what I've been thinking about for a while. I wish we had a scott frost, Dabo (even if he's at another school), spurrier, etc.

would love to have a Tennessee guy come back that is proven to be successful at the college level

Thinking that’s what the problem is.. Tennessee really doesn’t have a savior jus yet if we ever will have one.. we may have to go with Jim Bob.. have Peyton come in as a off cord/QB coach that’s just my pipe dream

Speaking of pipe dreams: I always thought it would be cool to have:

Fulmer come in as AD
Gruden come in as HC
Manning come in for an offensive role
Martin come in for an offensive role
And some great Bama DC come in for D

Come to think of it were more than halfway there now.
