So...number 11 CB in the country. Top 3 player in Tennessee. Heupel personally visited in January. Has visited here multiple times. Heavily recruited by UGA and ND....and you are trying to sell the narrative that we didn't want him because we weren't in his top 5? Got anything besides speculation and orange glasses? Who are these top recruits that we have replaced him with?

You are right, but you are supposed to spin it so we don't look so bad.

Okay so if he's heavily recruited by UGA and Notre Dame then why did he not commit to either of them??

Bruh he ended up at Vandy. Miss me with the uga and nd pushing hard here stuff.

They probably were pushing as hard as we were. Which is why he committed to Vandy.

Heupel and company have a board, and we don't know how high this kid was on it

Maybe it's a big loss. Vanderbilt has put players in the NFL.

But those that are upset are mad because he was a Tennessee 4 star. And he didn't commit to UGA, or Texas, or Notre Dame. He committed to Candy which means there was something specific he wanted from them, probably that Tennessee or anyone else couldn't offer.

I don't need our guys to be Rhode Scholars. I need them to be disciplined, focused and talented football players.

Still a lot of time left, and The State of Georgia is still overflowing with talent 1.5 hours away. North Carolina 2 hours away. We were in the playoffs last year with a team mostly comprised of Heupels recruits. I choose to give him the benefit of the doubt in recruiting.

He was heavily recruited by UGA and ND, but chose Vanderbilt?

Y'all put WAY too much stock in these rankings. Kid isn't the 11th best CB in the country. If he were, he wouldn't be going to Vanderbilt.

The number 7 DE picked Duke over UGA last year and the number 4 safety flipped from Clemson to georgia tech. If you want to be a "we really didn't want him anyway" fan, that's fine, but there is no denying that the kid is talented. He was DB MVP at the under armour camp and Heupel personally visited him back in Jan. Tell yourself whatever you need to tell yourself, but we aren't exactly hot on the recruiting trail right now.

Notre Dame was definitely pushing for him. Caden is a very good player that will continue to rise in the rankings. Top 3 player in the state for 2026 imo. Vandy got a really good player
If the bigger programs are really pushing for him, he won't end up at Vandy. A long way until December to be acting like Vandy is some sleeping giant

I think you should worry more about who is hot on the recruiting trail closer to December than in April. Happens every year where people make declarations about recruiting in April only to see it fall apart closer to signing day.

Don't know the kid. Closer to home? Better education? Really into anchors? idk. Not really concerned with ND or UGA recruiting...Just don't like how many kids we are recruiting that are picking other schools.
We don’t know Tennessees board.
And yes, I was wanting this kid to be a Vol too, because he’s really good.

I also know there are still dozens of other players that play the same position as him that we have to recruit from that are potentially as skilled.

Bro doesn't commit to Vandy if those are legit offers. Stop it.
Candy has some momentum. Won their bowl game against a good GA Tech team and beat Bama and lost to Texas by 3. Had Tennessee down 14-0 until Sampson, Nico and the defense woke up.

They're still an SEC school and probably could beat 80% of the team in FBS. I don't know.

It's not like he's signing with Southern Miss.

I would be ecstatic if he flipped to Tennessee.
But there's so much talent in the 6 hour radius that we should be fine without him.
