“Coach Pope coming down meant a lot to me because he could’ve been anywhere else in the country on the first day of the contact period but choose to come out and see me instead,” Walden told Volquest of what it meant to get a visit from Pope on Monday.

The Vols have continued to recruit Walden hard in the recent weeks, and he says they are letting him know that he is a top priority for them in the 2027 class.

“Tennessee has definitely emerged as a top contender for sure in the past month or so,” Walden said of this. “Coach Heupel and Coach Pope continue to check on me, and they’re constantly reminding me that i’m a top priority for them in Knoxville.”

Walden last visited Rocky Top in the fall for a game day atmosphere, and he says he is certainly planning to take another visit to Knoxville in the spring to take in one of the Vols spring practices.

Walden is currently rated as the No. 309 overall prospect in the Rivals Industry Rankings and is rated as the No.39 wide receiver in the class.
