I honestly cannot remember the last time I gave a crap about this kid’s recruitment. If the coaches had ramped up his recruitment and landed him, the best I could have mustered would be “cool...guess the coaches know what they’re doing.” I highly respect De1Conley’s evaluations and they only made more meh. Long way to say...next.

Bottom line though: you can’t really use this example to fault the staff’s ability to recruit. They obviously didn’t want the guy, and prioritized several DL targets over him.

12-0 or 11-1? A lot of those records were predicated on having an all world QB. Mayfield, Murray, and now Hurts. None of those guys will be fielding snaps next year. Better hope OU pulls another rabbit out of their hat. Because their success is due to our scoring teams not an all world defense.

I think the main difference here is OU is in a better place to take chances like this.
