I don’t think it’s laziness. Like you said I don’t think the kid is in any way a bad kid. He just lacks that consistent intensity. He’s athletic as hell, has a great build, he wouldn’t be a problem in the locker room at all IMO. Now the light could come on in the right environment but I doubt it.

Tonite, Im watching Grimes play against Brentwood. He SUCKS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have NO clue why Grimes is rated #1 player in the state. Dumbass Ryan Callahan has never seen the kid play football.

Watching on t.v. #25 is better, but it's my first time to see either team. Ravenwood TE/WR Briningstool is the best looking of all. 6'6" with speed!

I got to watch the game last night. I am not one to be overly critical of kids but Grimes was very underwhelming. He was playing OLB and worked as mainly an edge rusher most of the game and I will be honest I did not see the athletic ability De1 posts about and what the scouts have seen at rivals camps. If you were to put him side by side in a game vs. Ojulari you are going to take Ojulari every time and there wouldn't be any argument. There was no burst, there was no pash rush moves, when the ball went to the other side of the field there was no backside pursuit.

Now I know that RB is not his main position but there was a carry he got on 4th and 1 in the 2nd quarter that was abysmal for a supposed 4/5 star freakishly athletic player. Pitch out his way and he has room to turn up, great time to put your foot down turn up, show some elite acceleration and either shoot through the defenders or initiate contact and plow through them. Instead he gingerly side stepped to the right barely got up field and couldn't fight off a defender who appeared to be nearly half his size.

In watching recruits over the past several years you can always tell who are the 3 star and above guys because they are head and shoulders better than their competition especially in the state of TN because the competition they are facing is not that good. Grimes didn't even stand out to me as 3 star good on the field. Is he mailing it in and not trying? If so to me that is a major problem for a football player.

You explained the 4th & 1 play perfect. He did not want the first down & did not want contact with other players. Another reason I do not waste my money on recruiting services !!!!!!!
