'20 TN ATH Reggie Grimes (Oklahoma commit)

From what I've heard about him, supposedly comes from his coaches and talent evaluators, he's not an effort player, considered lazy and not receptive to coaching.

I don't claim to have any inside sources but this is what the general consensus is on him it seems. Shame, because he physically looks the part.

Look.. some of y’all need to realize the state of Tennessee isn’t as good as y’all are making it to be, high school talent wise. There’s 1A teams in Georgia that could compete and probably beat some of the 6A teams here. Grimes wasn’t even a semifinalist for Mr. Football in his division .

Depends. Teams could just run opposite side and double triple team him all game. Then playing both sides of ball that can wear in anyone. I’ve never watched him so don’t know since I never expected him to come here. 7.5 sacks is a decent sign that he has it in him.

Don't care if I get thrashed for this, but Grimes is not a good player. We hear the same thing repeatedly, usually when someone comes in here after so long it's usually to protect the player and try to persuade people that he "takes plays off to protect himself" "Already has his offers" give me a break. Every other elite player put up pretty nice numbers....not 23 tackles, you know why that stat sucks, it's because the kid doesn't have it. So please whoever wants to come in here and make excuses for the kid, by all means do it, but I'm not changing my opinion of this kid just because someone got butt hurt.

The only thing I will say is there were some that thought Bituli was very underwhelming in HS and felt the same way. I honestly don't remember DBs stats to make a comparison. I'm just saying if the staff thinks they can get something useful out of him, then that is fine by me, but I don't think anybody is real excited about this dude.

This staff has shown how they can develop talent. Lots of one note guys in the NFL....
