All Jimmy did was report what was in a police report. Its public record. If his report was just based on hearsay or reporting things not part of public record then that would be a problem. If people dont want things in the media then dont get the police called to your house.
If thats was the case, why is there a police report?
I don't see this listed via any of the UT Police resources online. I see where you can request records and expect a 2 to 3 day wait if approved. I also see their daily crime blog on twitter and elsewhere, but nothing just open and facing the public with names and details.
If you go by the precinct you usually can get the report that day. Also, as long as hes been reporting, I guarantee all Hyams has to do is emai the PIO and he gets the report emailed back to him pretty much immediately. Also, Hyams didnt break the story that Kelly was injured, that was Trey Wallace. Id assume a source reached out to Wallace and tipped him off and thats how it got out.
And Trey Wallace did not report the content, if he was given it, due to its sensitive nature. That's how a professional reports.
