but I'm not doing a satellite.

Random kid from AT&T just tried to sell me their cable package. Right now, I have 5 boxes, only 3 of them are hd/dvr, internet and 2 phone lines. I think this all adds up to over $325/month.

He is trying to sell me UVERSE and tells me I get more HD channels, 5 dvr boxes, internet and 2 phone lines for $150.

Anybody deal with Uverse before? Am I wasting my time? Or, am I a fool for sticking with Comcast this long.

Is there a catch?

Help appreciated.

I had Uverse and loved it - when it worked. I was probably too far from the vRad and in a neighborhood with very old lines. If you have a good connection it works very well. The whole home DVR allowed pause of live TV in every room and the on demand stuff was great.

I don't understand the appeal of Comcast/ATT's VoIP phone service when alternatives like Magic Jack and Vonage are cheaper and portable. Not to mention the fact that if your cable goes out, so does your phone service.

You will get mixed reviews about it at best. Some love it, some hate it. From what I know of your area, ATT is pretty decent in that are, but I had Comcast and loved it when I lived off of Moore's Ln. I can understand the cost of all that though.

Can't you do a threaten call to switch if they don't work with you??

You can only do about 3 before they stop working with you. And Comcast is the worst.

You should go with direct TV and I can give you my account number and we will both get an additional $10 off a month for 10 months.

Anyone living in LaVergne, Mt Juliet, or Farragut.... I work for TDS and can get you a good deal on internet and TV through a Fiber line. Email me if interested. DCTNVOLS@Gmail.com

never had Uverse...Had Comcast in Chicago, and took awhile to get the signal strength right, so I hated it initially, now that I have Cox...Comcast was awesome...Cox's on demand pacjakge is horrible

I can pretty much 2nd that.

See if they'll do any kind of trial period...if it works, I'd keep it.

No complaints about internet. Occasionally the TV signal skips for a few seconds...its more annoying on DVR recordings. They're trying to get that sorted out. Only real issue.

DVR is great size and response wise, mobile app is decent and handy.

I had UVerse for over a year and loved it. Tv was good and had good quality. See if it works first and then sign a contract for a year. You will get a better price.

Seriously? Crap. I think I just did my fourth a few months ago. I may have to actually switch. TV isn't a huge issue. The main problem is there are no other reasonable internet options.

They don't offer U-Verse here, and even if they did, I haven't heard great things.

Actually just got rid of DirecTV. Was with them for two years, and they decided to tag on 30 bucks a month for NFL Sunday Ticket (which I didn't order). After talking to "Steve" and him telling me he couldn't remove it from my bill I switched to Charter. I got three DVR/HD boxes (I put a TV in my bathroom, might as well...) and two phone lines and I'm paying about 40 bucks a month less than I was with DirecTV

I have Comcast Internet and phone. The latter I only keep for the home security system which Im considering switching to Comcast for that now that my ADT contract is up. Cut cable off last February because I was hardly watching it. Now I just stream from various sources.

Direct TV for a year now, and couldn't be happier. I can't believe I put up with crappy cable service for so long. Having a reliable installer/service contact is a must. Let me know if you need a contact.

Best deal is get a group of people and set up a private office viewing account with directv. Then split the bill.

I am I the business, I don't compete with them or represent them, but the Uverse package and whole home DVR and Apps for your TV is great. They use the Microsoft media room platform for video and it is the best. My company uses this same iP based Microsoft platform it cannot be beat. Thier Internet will not be as good when doing apples vs apples because its not Fiber optic based. But the video is really good.
