Time to reclaim our tradition on defense

Colton Jumper is a good, feel-good story. He will be a monster on special teams, not unlike JRM in the past. However, he won't be our MLB. Bynum is slow but steady, and is merely keeping the seat warm for Kirkland/Bates.

If Larry said Colton is penciled in then you best believe Colton jumper is penciled in

Colton jumper put on a show in the spring game if anyone was paying attention. He was all over the field

Isn't he a legacy who played at Baylor (iow, parents don't need the tuition $$$) and could have played with scholly at many other places had he not bled orange?

There are only a small handful of guys who post on here that I would believe if they claimed the coaches have Jumper penciled in as our starter at mike right now.....LWSVol is on the short list.

LWSVol definitely has some inside info. Because of that, I believe Jumper likely leads the way. But I don't think the coaches would pencil him in without seeing what Kirkland can do as he's not practiced with the team at all. And somebody else may run away with it during fall camp.

Anybody looking for a walk on at Mike that held his own, look no further than Reveiz. Not a superstar, but intelligence of the game and positioning. Solid, stable, and highly underrated. Mike is the one position where these Vols can afford to trade athleticism for game IQ.

If Bates can call the defense he will start. He is very, very talented and so is Kirkland. I am really not very worried about this position. There is plenty of talent there. If Jumper is doing that well then all the better.
