Just go ahead and put hoke in as hc. Pickings are getting too slim to pay stupid money to another mediocre coach. Sad but true. Hoke may be able to stabilize long enough to get the brand back on track. He may even prove to be decent

It's only 3rd down, baw!

You don't ever punt on 3rd down... you grow some balls and you get the job done. If the AD is too incompetent to do its job, we will have to do it for them

It’s not 3rd down. Currie is effectively neutered. We’re at the point of paying stupid money for another mediocre coach. Might as well give hoke a swing and
Give him some latitude to hire decent coordinators. He’s been successful before may have learned from th um experience. It could be worse. And likely will

Another option is to allow Fulmer to me the HC for one year to stabilize things and allow time to get the right guy in here next year. Much better option that Hoke IMO.

Not giving up. It’s more facing reality of the current situation. I’d rather have hoke than Dorene hoke not a basket case. He may have the stuff to get this team back on track. May not. But he’s at least as good
As Some of the other viable options

The team mailed
It in. Started out strong but gave up cause there was nothing to fight for in their eyes....not that I agree. Don’t think that’s all on hoke. Given the chance he may do better. Given some of the other options I don’t think
He’d be worse

I’d take Brohm in a heartbear. Jmu coach. Neal brown or bill Clark won’t happen

The way this is going well get another
Dooley or worse

No way! Should not even be an option. If all else doesn’t work, make Fulmer the interim coach for a year.

The season ended on Saturday. Everyone needs to calm down. I'm not sure why everyone thinks we should just give up on the next 5 years.

Here's a plan:

UT announces a one-year deal between the football program and all the faithful fans who fill Neyland for every game, and the deal starts with not fielding a team at all next season.

But the fans just pay to show up as if there actually WERE games and spend the same money they normall would only there'd just be some other kind of entertainment on the field for three hours.

Then, with allllll that money earned from fans, and all the money saved by not having to pay for road trips, etc., the university could put together a nice signing bonus for a really good coach.

:dance2: lol

Fulmer hasn't coached in 10 years. Please don't hope for that. Interim is not the worst thing to do but at least go for Hoke or Bob Shoop. Gut says maybe there are some decent coaches that can be hired. Jimbo might be available for top tier and as I have stated, Narduzzi at Pitt looks promising. He is one of 3 coaches in a power 5 hired at the end of 2014 that have a winning record just 3 years later. The other 2 are Harbough and Chryst

I'd rather have Fulmer than some of these others who are getting sent packing from other places because they stink. Fulmer's worst years were still much better than some of these recent candidates' best.

Besides, who is to say that Fulmer couldn't have picked up a few nuggets worth sharing with a staff and players over the past 10 years? Seriously, there are much worse ideas!
