Partly agree. Currie needs to go ASAP. Schiano would not have been a good hire. His limited success at Rutgers was against inferior opponents in the Big East and also American Conference. His NFL record speaks for itself and his reputation among players when he is the head man is suspect because he hasn't learned to delegate and is authoritarian. He is a great coordinator but not head coach material. We just said goodbye to one paranoid coach and certainly don't need another.

Only read the first sentence of your thread let me guess you are 65 years old been a fan for 60 years gtfo my dad has been a vols fan for 60 years just like you he don't understand the power of social media he thinks its killing Americans but let me tell you pops if it wasn't for social media we'd have a pedo enabler walking the sidelines of Neyland for the next 5 years

JC attempted to hire GS the day after the season ended that would indicate that was his #1 guy.

JC didn’t follow thru with hire hence making himself look weak.

So what is untrue?

Both of those statements. Just because they were reported doesn’t make them true. Nothing else you’ve seen this week has proven to be, either.

Penn St stuff aside you have to ask why absolutely no one else is trying to hire him. No one.

And he was our opening salvo?

We probably weren’t going to get a Peterson, Patterson, or Kelly but by god you need to try before going to a tainted DC that no one else is after!!

So the Sunday introduction of Schiano was not true? Curries release of a statement about Schanio was.....what then? At the very least swimming close to Schanio was stupid .... to outright incompetence depending on how you paint it. He did it or the persception of it so that's a done deal. Yet you say he got his guy out of the gate? And you say we'll be happy? Currie is involved, how is everyone going to be happy at this point? You may be.

The fact he was taking a vacation while other athletic directors were actually doing their jobs tells you all you need to know.

Mullen was a sideshow. Gruden was a smokescreen.

The House of Haslem wanted Schiano. As we all know by now, Johnny Bahama put the interests of the House above that of the University of Tennessee.

This is why we are at this bottom-feeding level now: athletic directors hiring poor coaches hand-selected by the same mental midgets who own the Cleveland Browns.

In my view, he had his man wrapped up weeks ago, but can't announce it until after Saturday's games. This was a calculated move. The blowback from the Schiano smokescreen was simply not anticipated. Leach isn't coming either, by the way. Believe what you want, but it will be a home run hire and you'll be pleased.

True, I can’t. Currie said a big splash hire of high integrity. That ain’t Schiano. Although they both are friends. Read into that what you will. That Currie went after Doeren is a good indication if where his head is.

On the 2nd point: Currie had chosed Schiano. If this is who he wanted (had to be, he had an MOU) he should have defended his position instead of walking away. How he handled it is totally unacceptable.
