Time To Draw A Line.

This is the truth. The Bama media have been surprisingly very pro-Kiffin on balance.

The worst is when they have a goon from the Knoxville media on and they did all but completely slam Kiffin and the staff.

"Overpaid"
"Runs his mouth pretty much"

And then after the call they pretty much echo their ESPN affiliate casters by saying "Well, it seems to have helped their recruiting considerably". Embarrassing for UT, actually.

I don't listen, but I think its arrogant of them to think they need to be informed of everything before it happens.

"Anyone who buys a KNS or listens to the Sports Anus is an enemy of the Tennessee Football program. Period. "

seriously? That's everyone in the knoxville area that doesn't read this board.

I guess we'll only have the 200 friends of the tennessee program that post in this thread at the memphis game.

Yeah, the Senseless is doing big business. That's why two thirds of their content is AP dreck and it has been scaled back to the size of the Halls Shopper.

Nobody buys the paper anymore. I'd imagine some of their own sportswriters don't even buy the KNS.

A specific story or the coverage in general? Are you saying that certain writers aren't supportive enough of the program? Most sports writers in SEC towns are not objective--but in the opposite way that you think. They are too deferential to the local program, too boosterish. That's the real problem. How many sports writers in Bama wrote about Logan Young over the many years when he was cheating. I think the answer is zero? Most local writers tend to ignore issues like academics, boosters, attrition and serious negative stuff because they don't want to incur the wrath of fans and coaches and get cut off from the program. I admire the guys who don't buy into the football PR stuff--so therefore I disagree with you. :hi:

I just think it's odd that the Chattanooga Times does a much better job on covering the Vols than the KNS. They give the Vols more coverage than the local Mocs, but I guess that's understandable.

I'm in, but I live in GA, so it won't be that hard. However, I'll ensure I don't click on any links.

I like Mike Strange though. He's a pretty good writer.

Heck, the AJC covers the Vols better this year.

Wes Rucker writes the most worthwhile articles of any of the reporters covering UT. He always has his facts in line and is pretty objective (as much as you can realistically expect a journalist to be on any subject). He also has a knack for finding angles that the others haven't thought of.

Without the torture-slayings trial, what much else is there to report on in the area lately? Great home cooking from a local housewife?

Add the Tennessean and Daily New Journal to the list, simply for sucking. It is a crime that the best newspaper that is in heavy circulation around here is USA Today

Add 104.5 in Nashville and let's make it clean sweep. I have been boycotting Plaster and company for the past 6 months, I need some help.
George Plaster is a tool. I quit listening to his drivel a couple of years ago. Mark Howard and the morning crew aren't much better.

Ironic, huh? It's like their hatred of Fulmer runs so deep that they can't see how regime change in K'ville will ultimately hurt them. Or they don't care.

Actually, if they don't care, that would be pretty classy.

I quit listening to them in January when I finally got tired of their program

Let's start a pirate radio station

I was unaware that anyone actually subscribes to the KNS...I thought they passed it out like the Metro Pulse to fill up hotel lobbies, Cracker Barrel, and the Men's Room. Occasionally, it comes in handy in one of those three locations, if the attendant hasn't stocked in a while.

As to the Sports Animal...I have made about 3 attempts to listen to the morning show over the past year or so (after vowing to never turn it on again awhile back). Each time, I lasted less than 10 minutes. When the best part of a show is Heather's goofy laugh...you've got a problem. And, if that's what I'm after, Sirius 99 trumps our local Volleyballer.

I thought that channel moved to 198.
