I want to hear from everyone please.

Go on record today.

Will all the excuses (as to why we aren't winning) be gone after this year?

Edit for clarification:

Excuse examples (excuses can be an actual fact):

He doesn't have his players in the system
He inherited a bad situation from previous coach
We are very young/inexperienced

3rd year is no excuses year. Coach has had two full recruiting cycles to fix any deficiencies. GoVols!

sub .500 over the next 4 games = failure
2-2 = set back for "rebuilding"
3-1 = progress
4-0 = looking forward to next year even more!
4-0 with a bowl win = seriously making a run at the East next year

No, 2015 should be slightly better but 2016 is the year. No excuses can be made for less than 8 wins in 2016, it would be time for accountability.

Depends on who we are playing. I don't expect us to beat bama at bama next year, but I expect us to be competitive with most teams. We will probably drop a couple of other games but hopefully close ones. I think we should expect 8-9 wins next year in the regular season.

Hahahahahaha

If there is one thing I've learned on volnation, it's that the excuses will never stop.

Our only chance to reduce them is to win more. As long as we have a coach who can't win, there will be people lining up here to excuse it. Butch could be 1-10 in year 5, and he would still have a legion here who would say that every other coach in college football history just inherited a better situation.

I think a bowl game is the bare minimum for next year. But I'm thinking we might be making a push for the East. I am also expecting us to win out so there's that.

It all depends on Dobbs! If he is the real deal, then the sky is the limit!

Much like the NFL, its all about the QB!

Are you asking this question to ease your pain? As long as there are fans there will be complaints and likewise there will be responses by fans that will appear to be excuses. Even if they are facts. We go 11·1 someone will complain and some will respond with an excuse.

Of course any reason becomes an excuse if you need it to fit your narrative, correct?

People are already writing off 2015. I expect to see results in 2015. Not an SEC championship appearance, but certainly not biting our nails hoping for 6-6 and a bowl game appearance either. I don't think there will be a large drop-off from Worley's departure and hopefully the OL is being shored up in some manner. At least they will have a bit of experience next year.

So not world beaters, not looking at 10 wins, but we shouldn't be struggling for 6 either IMO.

Agreed. And I believe the defense will be improved as well. Even with the loss of AJ and Randolph, we will see a lot of growth from the freshmen we have this year.

Edit: Actually Randolph may be a junior?

When the "reason" is used to explain why a coach who is starting 13 4-star recruits at home loses to a Vanderbilt squad starting all of 1 4-star recruit, without placing any blame on the coach himself, then that "reason" is nothing more than a sad excuse.

From me: Yes
Volnation: Never

With the talent Butch has brought in, next year is time to cash out. We need 8-9 wins or the excuses start to look pretty pathetic

Yep, if we have good qb play, we'll be tough to deal with next year.
