Like all of you I am so stoked to get the season going. Been a long journey for us here in the Nation the last 10 years. Simply amazing to think of what we've been through.

Had someone penned the "worst case scenario for the Vols the next 10 years" article in the year 2006, it would have never envisioned the depths we really reached. Amazing frankly. We all might have just witnessed the modern era Dark Ages of Vol football once the story is truly written. My heart of hearts tells me that's true.......

Conversely, my gut tells me we are about to embark upon a revival of whose heights we won't equally have imagined. Often in life it works like that. Great failure is followed by great success. Its always darkest before the dawn.....

Cliches? Surely. But there is reasoning there. Those that have labored in the hallows this long (wearing the T they know belongs on higher elevations) get hungry. Angry even. Hell, perhaps even spiteful. That drives success at a fundamental level despite "the hype".

And I've learned as one who has made the stock market my home, things can go a lot lower than you ever could have imagined. And lot a higher too.

Imagine investing in UT during the "price low" of 2007 or 2008. Could not blame anyone really. Great brand at a great price. Truth is its been dead money for damn near a decade. A decade!

To my point - UT right now is a STRONG BUY. Perhaps the strongest. Sure the risk takers would say last year was the time to buy. And yep, the're probably right. But for the rest of us who want a great stock at a great price where the risk/reward is clearly in your favor - its time to buy UT. Hell, its time to back up the truck.......

(And for those that want a diversified portfolio - consider adding in some shares of Michigan, Houston, and Arizona. :)

Thanks, OP. Buying in. Selling out. Truth is: Many of us kept buyibng in while our UT Vols were a collective commodity that was, back then and not long ago, unsellable to a whole lot of other folks. Certain schools have high end runs, like bama's been enjoying and like FSU had and ND and Penn State and Oklahoma and Texas and tOSU and Michigan and ........you catch my drift. What's the common denominator these institutions possess...as well as UT? Relentlessly supportive fan bases. Now, that's a relatively unappreciated stock. Many call us "sunshine pumpers." I'll take that title and run with it all day. Thanks, OP, for an appropriately presented metaphor. :salute:

The Beach Boys sang it best "Be True to Your School"

Ups downs whatevers you support your folks if you're a true fan IMO.

I guess I'm like the old geezer who sat on his 100 initial public offering shares of Ford Motor Company that he bought in 1956, held them without budging for his entire life, and died a multi-bazillionaire...that is, if he'd ever sold the stock, which he didn't. They were in a box in the attic when his kids found them.

I'm never selling Vols stock, bought up my full share as a youth and keeping it till I die. :hi:
