Great and the USA is not bigger than the NFL?

Unbelievable and we wonder what is wrong with everything today!

:thud:

Tennesseeduke

What the hell are you talking about?
I won't quit on the Vols. I'm a Tennessee fan not a Butch fan. I cheer for the Vols not the coaches. Those million dollar babies in the No Fun League can go away.

Boycott? Really? Yer right...F the players who work their asses off. Show em and all future recruits we are fickle and don't support the work they do. Great idea.

This is silly. Allowing attendance to decline (i.e. Money to stop flowing in), will force the administrations hand to make a change. It's not telling the players we don't support them. And really, a boycott isn't even necessary. It happens automatically. How excited are you to go spend a bunch of money to see a ut game right now. There's high school games you can go see for free that are better coached and more organized than ut football right now. Attendance will be down the rest of the year.

In my view, the best way to boycott would be at the concession stand. Attend if you have tickets and show support for the players, but skip buying any drinks or food to send a message to the AD.

It's about the team, not Butch.

Even from a self-interested perspective, it's not a good idea to boycott. If you were a blue-chip recruit would you choose a fan base like that?

That's a great idea. We should push that on twitter and try to get it passed around.

As I watched the old fashion GA AssWhooooping being laid on us AT HOME, I saw huge number of fans leave, during the 3rd quarter, that was a "Mini boycott" in and of itself. I don't blame them at all. To sit and watch any more was making many sick, and no one wants to be sitting next to someone who is about to upchuck!!! I'm not for boycotting, because I love UT Football, I hate what jones has done to us. I could see this coming for the last couple of years, remember last year? It was suppose to be an easy year! I still stand with our players, 100%. We need to rid ourselves of jones. A few thousand letters to the AD may help, he doesn't seem to have a set of balls, or he would be taking care of this yesterday. Those that have(and still do) supported jones, need to shut up and go away. Tennessee Football is not over, but a few more years (maybe a few more games) under jones, and we'll be set way, way back. Fire butch bumper stickers may be a big seller......

That's all well amd good but at the end of the day, big picture...i appreciate all who play for the Vols and work their asses off. We sit here on the frigggin interweb passing judgement while they balance practice and school. I'm not gonna support that. The coaching thing will work itself out. I'm not gonna be that guy who bails on those actually doing the work because i don't like 1 guy...regardless of how silly you think i am.

Jones isn't the problem. The AD and boosters are and have been the problem. Cant blame Butch for taking the job and giving it a shot. You can blame the boosters for hiring him instead of going after the big fish. If the powers to be refuse to open up the checkbook and go get the homerun hire this go around, then yes time to boycott.

The only way our administration will get rid of Jones is if there are tons of empty seats on gameday. I have seen this before and as long as the stadium is mostly full Jones will be our coach. Its all about money to these people folks nothing else not pride not winning just money. If we want a new coach you have to show you are unhappy on game day with empty seats and empty wallets.

I'll watch them on TV, but no way I'm spending another nickel going to a game while he's here.

We are not helping the players if we dont do what we can to push Jones out the door. They deserve a better coach and a chance to be winners. That is how we need to support the team . help them get a better coach. I guarantee not one player being recruited or that is already here is signing up or has signed up for the beat down they got yesterday. the players want to win just like the fans. They deserve a coach that can get them where they want to be . Jones is salesman not a football coach or should i say a con man

As I stated in an earlier post, I'm not for boycotts, but I admit you make a strong point, and to be honest, I may change my mind. Thanks for the good post.:hi:

Concession contracts are pre-negotiated between the vendors and UT. TN has already been paid and buying concessions or not buying doesn’t change a dime TN gets.

Just like all ticket sales have already been made. Boycotting games doesn’t change a thing monetarily for TN. They’ve already been paid.

100%. I'm done with the NFL, period, end of story, they can **** off.

But the Vols? No way, they're in my blood and bigger than one transient coach. If Butch is let go, it'll be because he's not doing the job he's paid incredibly well to do and the powers that be will decide that a change is necessary. I'll be here supporting the team, the players and program no matter what, whether Sgt Carter is the coach or not.
