I see alot of posts about Woolridge, Pearl, and McBee shouldn't be playing the minutes they are getting.

Everyone should remember that we are not just short one player (Tyler Smith) we actually are missing 5 players currently:

T. Smith - dismissed from the team

E. Negadu - lost right before the season due to medical condition.

J. Tabb - suspended and left the team right before the season.

C. Tatum - 4 game suspension and came back to spot duty in 2 games and now out with a ankle injury.

B. Williams - all though back on the team, hasn't played hardly at all in the past 11 games (suspended for 9 games)

So what choice do we have? We have to play our 3 walk on's and some others. So give them our support and realize that this team is completely different than what it could have been. To be 18-6 right now is quite good considering what has happened.

amen!!! Just because CBP doesn't lean on that crutch shouldn't mean that we all forget so easily! Then you look at the type of class CBP is putting together for next year and it looks like the man is on the J.O.B!!

i think alot of the stuff you see on the board too is a football school's mentality on basketball....like there's alot of people here treating it like they would football as they dont completely understand the difference in how success is built/had or timeframes in the two sports

BP was definitely put behind the 8 ball this season. That being said I will feel better about the games we lose when our players are running plays and have some rhyme or reason. It seems like they play on their own most of the time like its a pick up game. I appreciate what Pearl has done for our program but he has to coach the talent up to make them better. IMO this would put more players in the Pro's as well. How many BB players have left UT better than they were when they got there since Pearls arrival?

Bradshaw, lofton and Jajuan Smith improved drasticlly with the coaching change. Lofton would have been a good shooter whoever coached him but Bruce made him learn to drive which was a huge asset.

Lofton got better at driving the ball, J. Smith became better all around and Chism has gotten better every year, so yes pearl has deveoped his players. It's just a matter of if they want to listen and be coached up.

Are you asking Tennessee basketball fans to be realistic? I'm not sure that's possible. From the looks of some of the threads on here you would think that Tennessee basketball has been a complete failure ever since CBP arrived.

Not to mention Duke Crews and Ramar Smith who would still be on the team had they not screwed up off the court.

What do you mean? I don't follow.

It's almost as bad as the people who thought we started playing basketball when Pearl arrived.

So what you're saying is we're not playing with 1 or 2 less players, we're actually playing with 4 less players than we really started off with

I do think you have to judge a coach by how well they overcome adversity, and Pearl has certainly earned his pay in that department.

In past years, we would have been happy to have winning record and call it a day (season). With Pearl, we have a chance to get Williams and Tatum back into the flow, get Chism healthy, and possibly build some momentum going into tourney time. That will not be easy with the schedule we have in front of us, but with Pearl we at least have a good chance.
