I don't think it's an issue of wearing a mask, but the fact of the governing bodies taking the choice to wear one away. I wear a mask when I'm going to be within 6ft of people because I choose to. I do not however agree with the fact that the choice is being taken away.

I also do not have an issue with private businesses requiring masks to enter said businesses. Their business their rules, my choice to enter or not.
"Governing bodies" have also taken the choice of paying taxes away, and stopping at red lights, and shouting "fire" in a crowded theater. Why is being asked to wear a mask any different?

So is "fear porn" the latest retort to negative news when you don't have an effective counter-argument?

In my youth it was a more concise "Bite me!"

He's not uninformed. This is ALL about November.
So I don’t understand how and I’ve never seen anyone provide any additional detail much less evidence for that claim. Can you explain how that would work to me?

Do you believe the whole thing is a hoax and all the doctors are in on it? Do you think it’s not serious but that Republican governors are trying to sabotage their own party by hurting their own economies? I just don’t understand how there could be some giant secret plan for this being about the US election without just an impossible number of people being required. I mean this didn’t even start in the US and Italy was in lockdown way before us. Why would they do that?

But maybe I’m totally misunderstanding what you’re saying when you say it’s all about November. Like I said, nobody has told me what that means.

College ball ain't happening this Fall. Our students have to go to classes. It's basically impossible logistically to make it work. Plus, the 2nd wave will hit Oct/Nov and put the kibash on things again.

The prudent thing to do is postpone things until the Spring. Hopefully, we'll have treatments, and/or a vaccine/cure by then. Or, hey, maybe it just simply disappears.

If we're lucky, NFL should be a go this Fall. No fans though. Given where we are now, I'll take it.
They can do online classes lol

Where is it illegal to shout "fire" in a crowded theater? If your action causes a reaction which injures people or property you can be held responsible, but the action alone is not illegal.

Okay, where is the statute? Where is there record of a conviction when there was no negative impact?
I googled it about an hour ago. From what I gather you can be cited or charged for yelling “Fire” in a theater or any other public place where it could create panic or harm. Actual harm or panic does not have to actually occur. The actual word “Fire” was an analogy used before the Supreme Court in 1919. Any word or phrase which could cause panic or harm would also apply. For instance if you went into a crowd and yelled “bomb” or “gun” may have similar results for a person being charged.

The excited utterance has to be done with the sole intention of causing a panic. It's oviously not illegal to shout "Fire!" in a crowded theatre if there is actually a fire in that theatre. Even if a panic ensues, you wouldn't have committed a criminal act.

If your speech creates a clear and present danger, the first amendment will not protect you, even if the danger does not result in actual harm. Facts. Jack.

Again, not necessarily. If you become aware of a fire in a theatre and alert all the patrons to that fire, and a couple of folks panic and trample others in the rush out the door, you would not be responsible for creating a clear and present danger. In fact, you did your best to alert everyone to such a danger.

Since the NFL has gone full bore social justice warrior, I’d rather watch my kids color.
