There's no way he could be a "maverick" and pick Lieberman and expect to win. Just wasn't going to happen.

He was forced to pick Romney. He needs the cash, and he needs Michigan. Without them, he's done. They're grooming Mitt for 2012. They know McCain has no chance.

The PTB are very worried that McCain will not win -- and even if he does, he's a risk to only serve one term. Mitt can easily step-up in either case.

I think Lieberman would have gotten him more votes in swing states....

McCain's going to win Florida anyway. Not sure where else Lieberman would help. Image wise: I just can't imagine how bad those two would look next to one another. Not exactly an example of youth and vigor.

Mitt might be smart, but he sure does come across as a wimpy nerd. He's not exactly a tough guy like McCain, or Biden. They'll need to work on that before the debates.

YESSS!!!!!!!! I have always thought that Mitt Romney would be an outstanding choice. He is a God-fearing Christian and more importantly, knows how to manage the money. Plus, he truly, truly, loves all people. I remember him sharing the story with Tim Russert about the day that the Mormon church decided to admit black people into the clergy (that happened in like the late 1970s I think, which shows that the Mormon Church is really a leader when it comes to social issues). Mitt said that he was driving when he heard the news (curious, since no cell phones then and would a AM / FM radio station break that back then?), and he PULLED OVER because he was so overwhelmed with emotion, and broke down crying. Because he was HAPPY!!! That's the kind of man he is. So on top of the God, the money . . . he is a lover of the HUMAN RACE. Go MITT!

See, Mitt has already energized the voters for McCain.

I agree to a point and im one of the ones that can't stand her, but she still has alot of folks that would vote for her.

I don't think Obama could have Clinton on his ticket. It would be too much pressure for him, they would appear to most as co-presidents.

That would be a democrat dream ticket. It would win him many more votes.
