Believe the Nico ship has left. You don’t come back to this city, to your team, coaches and fans. Believe that’s why it was aired out publicly when they couldn’t agree. We recouped his money to spend elsewhere.

And hopefully they use this windfall to shore up key positions of need. We could use some help in several places. Play this the right way, you could come out ahead.

It's all about market value - and Nico hasn't justified it. Nico overplaying his hand has destroyed all forbearance and grace extended for his mediocre play.
Nico impresses me as a lackadaisical punk with not much upstairs, but great natural talent. I don't see any fire, leadership, creativity or anything special beyond raw physical skills that keep him serviceable.
Start prepping Jake for the starter role. Don't waste any more time on this clown

I understand and I do disagree but that's life. I watch all the TN sports I can. Men/Women's Basketball, Women's Soccer, Baseball (I travel up from Florida every year to catch a series and watch every game i can on TV), Softball and i keep up with all sports (our mens swimming relay team setting records) along with Club sports, hockey and Rugby. I enjoy everything VOLS, not just football.

Merk was a very high rate 4-star. He cracked the top-10 QB list for Rivals and was at least on the fringe of most every services top-10. He wasn't an easy get. We had to fight Georgia to land him as he was their first option behind Beck just like he was our first option behind Nico. Other than Harrison Bailey, you've probably got to go back to to Fulmer to point out a higher rated QB recruit we've brought in.

It doesn't mean we shouldn't bring a transfer in, but it's way too early to say the talent isn't there.

Let's recall that Nico sat behind Milton for a year and many here feel he still couldn't run the offense. Ditto for Joe sitting behind Hooker.

Results say having sat for a year to learn Heupel's system still doesn't mean you can run it well.

Merk MAY be ready but we heard that about Joe and then about Nico....... and what we got was a very vanilla offense.

The good news is that if Nico stays and performs well, many of the more dramatic posters on here will forget their outrage. Some have forgotten their own comments and outrage when now-beloved Rick Barnes betrayed UT (according to them) by agreeing to tentative terms with UCLA 5 years ago. Why, we gave him an opportunity after Texas fired him! Can’t come back after this! How can we trust him? If Nico balls out and spurs UT to some big wins only the usual contrarians will harp on this. Assuming this is even a this…what is the track record of these type media reports being accurate representations, again? 20 percent of the time, perhaps?

They are paid more because they played better last year. Much better

Not sure if reported but his teammates are livid that he missed practice. He didn’t call, text … nothing! It’s sad as most of the team was focusing on class and tomorrow. Now it’s all about Nico and they have to answer questions from their friends on campus and media.

This isn’t Tennessee’s fault. The same **** happened to Georgia. Hell Nico might have got his raise if he didn’t make such a public scene and skip practice.
