Time for a raise/extension for Pearl, assistants..

How do you suggest beating them this year?

I say attack downfield on that young D, while making sure to establish the run game (Foster and Coker make a good 1-2 punch)

Then literally molest Tebow. Every play, especially those options, light him up. Let Timmy Teabag know what it means to play a full 60 minutes against a SEC defense
If we can't run the ball, we have no chance.

Well, that's really two different questions. First, I always thought we should have taken a page from FSU's book and absolutely assaulted the QB when we played Spurrier's teams. If the hits were a little late, so what? Against Meyer, I've felt we didn't throw the ball down the field enough in either game. I will grant that the '05 team just couldn't execute in the passing game. However, to beat quality teams, you have to make big plays.
that i agree with, though this past year, all we could do was go down feild and we did it with success....what did us in, interestingly, is our utter inability to do antying running the ball.....whoda thunk that?

I tend to agree regarding the pressure. Nebraska showed everybody how to beat the Fun n' Gun; bring heat and bring it fast . . . Of course the next year they stuck Wuerrfel in the shotgun and won the national title.

Only after FSU pounded Wuerffel into submission in the first meeting and teams choked to give the Gators a second chance.

by having a shot to play FSU twice. they figured out that pass rush, got in the ear of the refs, and it worked out for 'em. they also had some great WR's on that team that helped a little bit.:p

...i would have loved to had the shot to play FL later on in any season after we played them early on....

That is the gameplan every time we step on the field. Unfortunately, last year Florida figured out very quickly that they could stop the run with their front 4 and play Cover 2 behind it to kill the deep threat. There were times when I looked down on the field and Reggie Nelson was dropped 20 yards off the ball.

FL's front seven were nasty weren't they? they just had a really good defense.

I don't think I've ever seen d-linemen that quick in my life. It's a wonder Ainge didn't get sacked 10 times.
Jerome Brown, Danny Stubbs, Russell Maryland, and Warren Sapp would beg to differ with your assessment.

I should have qualified that. I was at the game with a view looking down the field. They were the quickest d-line I have seen LIVE.

Dwayne Johnson too

I smell what he's cookin.

it was like having 4 leanard littles out there........

though i'd say FSU has probably had some d lines that would stack up pretty well....

that 92' bama D was IMO the best college D I ever saw.

I'll second that. The game in Knoxville was absolutely the biggest beatdown I have ever seen in a one TD game. Our offense could have played 8 quarters and wouldn't have gotten 21 points.
