Tim Irwin on pruitt

I would disagree. In my opinion, and the opinion of former players I've heard and read, I've seen improvement. Last night was hard to watch, but Vandy had a SR QB and was better than us at quite a few positions.

We won zero SEC games last year. This season shouldn't have shocked anyone. How we beat 2 Top 15 teams is more shocking than the last 2 game outcomes.

Really don't matter what anyone says Pruitt wasn't hired to coach one year. I agree he really needs to be under the microscope in year two we must have a winning season. I think he should go ahead and fire Helton and get an experienced person to run the offense. We need a QB coach that knows more than Guarantano and others are getting now. The OL was terrible whether it was the coach or the players probably both has to be remedied.

I don't know enough about the game to go against anything Tim Irwin says. That said, we now hold the dubious honor as "Least of the East"

Our schedule at the beginning of the year looked like 4 wins to me, I think we overachieved with what Pruitt gad to work with and if we had pulled out the South Carolina game we wouldn’t be in this thread.

Certainly not a reassuring opinion. Oh well, I haven’t had hope since we hired Butch.

That's where i had us, too. One of my 4 wins was Vandy.

Seems reasonable.

I don't see how anyone can reasonably defend getting beat 88-30 by Missouri and Vanderbilt. Losing is one thing, getting humiliated is another.

Especially when the head coach is a supposed defensive guru.

Got to recruit the players first, he’s off to a great start in this years upcoming class,he’s only as good as what he’s got to work with..453D572F-16A8-4F26-A882-79A545612D6E.gif

Anyone who says that we have made improvement because we did not win any conference games last year and we won 2 this year has to realize that that 2017 team was not a 0-8 team on paper. They quit on their coach and for good reason. I do not see the record of 2 wins as an improvement.

I agree that is not Pruitt’s fault but this team looks just as bad in November as it did in September.

Just said “I am not calling for a new coach but I am not giving him any credit either. I’m on the fence,“

He seems very discouraged in fitst year oover outcome.

Anybody paying ANY attention whatsoever has to be incredibly discouraged. We’re in another 3 year process of firing the current head coach who clearly can’t get it done here...just a matter of time. Team can’t block, tackle, throw, catch or run and the attitude/culture around the program is ish. There’s zero reason for any optimism going forward. Next year will be every bit as bad as this year if not worse.

Been saying this for a while. Next year will be worse. Especially if there is a significant exodus that many are predicting. We will be starting new and younger players with little SEC experience. Pruitt should have done a better job of developing what he has instead of running people off. If he does not understand that then we hired the wrong coach.

I had us beating Vandy as well, but I would be the first to admit I knew absolutely nothing about them in August. After last week's results for both teams I could only wish for a win against them. I agree with the HC that the Dores are a better team than the Vols. I'm frankly surprised they lost to Kentucky.
