Not rotating a safety over to help Redmond on that 4th and 6 was coaching malpractice... no idea how Banks managed to go from looking great last year to complete dogs*** this year (injuries probably have something to do with it)

If you give Banks a lot of talent, he can produce a decent-to-good defense; if you have injuries/less talent, he can't raise them up the way somebody like Venables or Kirby Smart would (in other words, he can't make chicken salad out of chicken ****).

Simply put, Banks is an average DC in a fanbase that has elite expectations. If he gets a HC job this offseason, then I hope Heupel brings in a legit upgrade. This team/fanbase deserves it.

Kirby would have to have 15 hurt to get to the same level of talent we have. It's apples and xylophones.

Jesus you cannot be serious. First off Kirby Smart is Heupels kryptonite. No other coach on our schedule is. Let’s be real. UGA caught us without several of our best players in defense. And even with that it took a miracle for them to win.

Please tell us the 3 other teams that will beat us.

Average DC? lol. Look at what he has done since 2021. So tell us who is the legit upgrade.

Alabama will beat us, Florida might and Oklahoma. We better be locked in against Miss St in two weeks or they will beat us. i can see 8-4 or 7-5 easily

Redmond is a liability that continues to not make any positive plays. There’s zero flashes from him. Yea he’s a freshman but that’s no excuse if you continue to not give him help or give anyone else a shot. He may take Burrell’s spot as worst corner ever.

2021 Defense = Extremely bad, like hot garbage
2022 Defense = Average-below average, made clutch plays when we needed them.
2023 Defense = Above average, got let down by a bad offense
2024 Defense = Elite, got us to the playoffs along w/Sampson and the run game.
2025 Defense = TBD, but it looks like Swiss cheese

So far, that's 1 Elite defense, 1 Garbage defense (trending towards two), and 2 average-ish defenses..... as for legit upgrades, there are plenty of excellent defensive minds across college football, I'm sure with the talent we've accumulated we could convince one of them to take the job (assuming Banks bolts for a HC position)

Beginning of season, everyone expected this loss, it hurts by the way it happened but was expected.

There are 4 or 5 more games that may be a one score differential and possible loss. I still expect 9-3.
Games to be close, Ala, Ok., Fla, Ms. St, VANDY! Personally, I expect a loss at Fla and Ok.

Tim Banks’ scheme isn’t the problem, IMO. Health is obviously a major factor right now, but recruiting needs to be better. Depth is a major issue. Ben Bolton should be playing zero snaps against Georgia, but that wasn’t the case yesterday. I don’t know how to fix it, but we should have better depth on D in Year 5 than we do now. The way he called the game was fine.
