This was the first game this year that we didn't have LBs looking lost in coverage or with terrible penalties. I was really impressed with our defense as a whole today.

the only issue i see with the DEF is the zone he runs. Either it sucks or our guys just cannot play zone. To many open receivers!!!

Pruitt is the most overhyped POS in football. And Fulmer proved without a doubt how clueless he was without Cutcliffe around by hiring Pruitt.

Tom Banks might end up being the unsung hero of this year’s team. We were never going to be a top 30 defense but a lot of UT fans thought we would easily give up 40+ points per game. So far he’s definitely exceeding my expectations

Tim Banks has exceeded my expectations so far. I believe it also shows what hiring great assistant coaches, and allowing them to do their job, can do for player development. Garner and Jean-Mary have transformed the weakest parts of our defense and turned them into serviceable units.

"Pleasant surprise". Perfect description. Reaffirms what good coaching can do. Our lack of talent will be magnified against the likes of UGA, Bama, etc, but we won't look like the keystone cops. The kids will know what they're doing. I'm looking forward to seeing them operate with a full roster and better talent.

Yes that was also my biggest worry when he was hired since almost all of his years as DC have been as a Co-DC. Sometimes it’s hard to tell who the real architect is with those Co positions but I’m glad it’s working out. I love his aggressive style of defense.
