I'm not sure I agree with this. It's all just conjecture and speculation anyway as we have no way of knowing how either season would have played out with a solid defense. This year, it is likely we would have beaten Georgia with a better defense. Bama and Vandy, who knows. Oklahoma? Our defense kept them pretty well in check for the first half, our offense was the problem. Maybe a better D would have allowed us to complete the comeback in the second half? For 2022, it is really hard to say as we lost by 25 to South Carolina and Hooker got hurt. Do we win that game with a better defense? Do we beat Georgia that year if our defense was better? We only scored 13 on them.2022? Yes. 2025? No. I like Joey but he is turnover prone
Banks was not the problem. It starts at the head coach. Banks was good last year. But when you do not bring in the players or develop them your going to have a fall off. Banks did not miss a field goal against Georgia that would of won the game. Bama, Georgia, Ohio St does not have years where they are not good on O-line or D-line. CJH needs to step it up in these areas.Great news!! I guess Heup is serious about winning here.
