Tim Banks is a CHOKE ARTIST.

Up 8 with 6 left. Had the lead 5 freaking times and gave it up.
500 yards and 38 points to a team who put up 28 v AP.
Btb 7 and 8 minute drives.
Big game bend but don’t break Banks.
50% 3rd downs
100% 4th downs
Been over it
This times a million! I can't understand why everyone thinks Banks is the answer. He chokes vs good Os all the time! Look at the OSU game! How many ELITE Os has Banks' D did very well against?

Careful....Folks here will jump on you saving anything negative about the 105th ranked defense from one of the highest paid DC in the country. Watch your back. Lol

Their orange colored glasses fogs their brains. He's hired here and paid as one of the tops in the country so he has to be the best in the country. 105th is really top 10 to many UT fans.

Last year Tim Banks was awesome. Now we get beat by Georgia only because we missed a field goal and now we are ready to fire him?

We couldn’t stop their run and our freshman got picked on. We should have made better adjustments but we don’t have the depth like Georgia yet.

He was a choke artist against Georgia last year too.

Not sure I understand this. If it is his responsibility to turn 2nd string talent into 1st string talent overnight, then ok, but he can only do what he can only do.

Does this help you understand the argument about 2nd string is moot when you put your defense in this position during an 8 minute drive on 3rd and 4? Do people really not see that a safety on the 15 is ridiculous? This call and gain has nothing to do with being down DL or a cb. No player makes plays when they aren’t put in position to make them.

Thanks. I can see how that is frustrating. Unfortunately I don't have an eye for this. How often did this occur during the game?

Hard to say exactly how often without pausing every play, but when people complain about backup cb or depth it rings hollow to me when I’ve mentioned on this site and elsewhere before the season my concern about our habit of giving up long drives in big games and giving up big numbers to opposing qbs and shocker we did both again. People wonder what happened to the offense in the 2nd quarter and into the 3rd? They had the ball once in over an hour with defense allowing a 7 minute drive, then halftime, then 8 minute drive just handing over matchups and easy looks for the OC and qb.
This play was a big gain and set the sticks again. One of 13 handoffs on the drive, and we have to send smoke signals to our safety he’s so far away. Big games often come down to a few plays here and there so when you put your players completely out of position multiple times or have them confused presnap as we were another dozen times, you can’t make a play.

The putting Redmond on an island especially on the td in the 4th was maddening.

I didn’t understand the line shifting. It didn’t seem to work and many times UGA ran to the opposite side of the shift.

It seemed several times the defense was confused and wasn’t lined up properly.

Yes, 3 of those 5 had Banks at DC. Yet, many here believe he is a great DC. BS! Banks isn't a great DC in any way, shape, or form. He does well against teams that don't pass the ball well. When Banks faces a very good passing attack. He sucks at keeping them from scoring lots of points because he can't just put 8 in the box to stop the run! That is what happened Saturday AGAIN!!!

Yes, Banks has given up 41, 38, and 44 pts vs UGA at NEYLAND. Yet, they think he is an ELITE DC. They are definitely wearing orange colored glasses to fog their brains!!!

He has been a choke artist vs UGA for ALL THREE HOME GAMES vs UGA giving up 41, 38, and 44 pts!!! Yet, many here think he is an ELITE DC! UT can do a lot better with all the money they are paying that choke artist!

When banks took over, we were ranked 90th in the country in scoring defense. He got better every year despite the uptempo offense (aka more opportunities for the opponent to score). We were ranked 7th in the country in scoring defense last year. Last game was painful but chill before we wind up with another Sunseri type hire. The man has done an excellent job considering where he started and the injuries. It's still very early in the season.

Wish I had a better defense, but you were paying better attention. When the media praises Banks, what do you think they basing it off of? Or does he do a good job and for some reason plays like this pop up?

Let's not blame Banks / Martinez. After all, they left #4 (Ty NOCOVER A MAN) in the whole game when he couldn't cover an old lady in a wheelchair!!! UGA was down a few players too! The excuses get old for Banks and Martinez!!! The O did well last year with a terrbile QB the entire season who the OL probably didn't want to support the whole year due to he and his daddy shopping him around!!! Heupel needs to fire Martinez and possibly Banks if he ever wants to win a NC!!!
I have never liked Martinez. Can always tell when he is the DB coach. Nobody learns to turn and play the ball. Ha

I don’t know. Who knows what they see. Some people watch a football game and only know what the scoreboard says. Some people look at rankings from last year and prior and have told me “you can’t just pick out a few plays from select big games..” well yeah that’s exactly what I’m going to do when a few plays wins and loses games.
I cannot emohasize enough what long drives do to the offense, defense, whole sideline, and 102k taken out of the game again Saturday. It’s been a problem for 3 years now and calls like the image I shared are a big part of them.
The film guy, who is good, put out a video yesterday pointing out some of the same things. I know I’ve posted it a couple times but this D call is so bad I can’t imagine a worse one. WTH are we doing with the safety in that image? Infuriating. Big drive, still have the lead, 3rd down, can hold them to a long fg attempt, maybe get a stop and get the ball back..and this is the call from the box. I was yelling “timeout!!” Hell my wife as even asking “can’t they just run it up the middle?” Ga held the ball for a couple more minutes and scored a TD after an 8 minute drive.
Ga had held the ball 17 of the last 19 minutes of gametime at that point of the game.
“Offense looked out of rhythm”. Ya think?
