Amazing game by the offense. Joey and the WRs balled out. The run game was solid. 38 points should be enough points to win by 3-4 scores against a pretty mediocre offense. Tim Banks flexes against lesser opponents but in big games he has no idea what he is doing. I don’t know the solution because his body of works says he’s a solid DC. But holy **** I’m sick of his defense looking abysmal against UGA. Mike Bobo isn’t exactly an offensive genius and yet Banks gets schooled every time. It’s beyond stupid. Something has to change. That should of been a beatdown in favor of the Vols. Period.

He is a mid tier coordinator with good talent

Tim Banks coached a hell of a game with a depleted roster. Kirby has 5 stars all over and won on a whiff.

Martinez definitely needs to go and possibly take Banks with him. Heupel also needs his head examined for not moving the ball to the middle of the field and attempting the FG on 3rd down with 7 seconds and TOs left. MOVE THE FREAKING BALL TO THE MIDDLE OF THE FIELD ON 3RD DOWN! Would it have made a difference? I believe it would have! He had to push it instead of kicking it straight down the middle!!!

Martinez is a great coach imo. He’s down his two starting CBs. A freshman got picked on, is what it is. lol it’s banks. He’s stubborn. Last year he kept playing zone and getting picked alive in this game. This year he kept blitzing even though UGA was handling it well. Mix it the **** up.

Not trying to be a sunshine pumper, but we had that game won being down 2 starting corners, 2 starting defensive lineman, and 1 starting offensive lineman. That's a huge loss in talent not to mention depth.
That was a damn good game. Hopefully we can get some guys back. I don't remember us getting in Georgia's backfield in the past decade as we did tonight.
Go Vols, tough way to lose.

Defensive coordinators ain't easy to come by. Hell......Gators have 3 DC that all share responsibility and they looked like a hot turd last week.

Now I ain't saying Orgeron the answer, but at least give the man a call.

I've been a Tim Banks supporter his whole time here and im still giving him a little bit of a pass this year realizing he has to play guys at corner and safety who this time last year were playing in high school in front of crowds that could barely fill one section in Neyland.

Where I am blaming in today's game is two spots.
One is the 2 point conversion...it's like our defense had never practiced or lined up to defend a conversion.
The second is the OT...Georgia telegraphed sweep run and you set your play up to follow the misdirection.

Yeah because missing our top 2 Corners and starting DLineman has zero to do with it. We literally had to start a true FR at DB. Lots of blame to go around
