Why is everyone making this so personal? Good for Banks. He didn’t sit around with enjoying his FULL buyout from UT. He went back to work to draw a salary that will OFFSET and REDUCE what UT will owe him

I don't want a good dude as DC, I want someone like Golesh was for our offense. I want a freaking drill sergeant as DC.

Part of me wonders how he is strictly as a Safeties coach without the responsibilities of coaching and scheming an entire defense. Similarly to how I believe Heupel struggles with a lot of clock management, TO usage, and strategies of a head coach because he is calling plays (or at a minimum, scheming them and offering advice to Halzle).

With the amount of staff and personnel allowed in these programs these days, I just don't understand asking your key staff to pull double duty. Banks was likely never going to be a great DC, but how much did coaching a position group hinder him in practice? How much did running an entire defense hinder his ability to coach the Safeties group? He had several Safeties drafted out of PSU where he was also co-DC, but not calling plays.

Wish him nothing but blessings l! He did as good as a job that he was capable of at Tennessee. Some good times and bad times. No scandals or anything. Seems like a genuinely good guy. Hope he succeeds at Aurburn!

Don't think so. He had one bad season with a depleted roster. There will be somebody next year or the next in search of one. If he is worth his salt, he will rebound.
