Tight Ends tonight

Illinois took away our deep passing game with their safety play. Why not counter with utilizing our Tight Ends more in the passing game?
We completed one pass for 3 yards to our Tight Ends the whole game.
It feels like every year we talk about getting the Tight Ends more involved in the passing game and it never happens.

OP, by now the rest of us have figured out CJH scripts the first three series of plays, no matter what. If we don’t score touchdowns on those three series and their offense doesn’t turn it over the next time they have it, we probably lose. Since we’ve figured him out, pretty sure other D1 DC’s have too.

They threw 1 pass to Davis, he was open JA just missed the throw. They should have been throwing to him all night.

We actually started using Davis in the last few games before the bowl to great effect. Kitselman had the drops this year after being the best hands on the team last season. He played hurt a lot though bc we needed him badly. Great blocker always. JVD showed promise as a blocker and pass catcher.

I would like to see Heuple turn the play calling over a good OC next season. Think we would see much better results.
