I have '04 and '05, and was completely addicted to Tiger Woo on XBox live for a few months. I think the new one is out -- anyone have it yet and what do you think? Is it good enough that my wife will hate it as much as last year's?

Fairly similar to previous years. Setup on menus is drastically different, and assigning skill points is different. Putting has been redone, but it's alright once you get the hang of it. Still, the core game is basically the same. I never get into the skill challenges and stuff, so no comment on the "side games."

Not sure it's worth $50, but it's nice to have something new. The VS. when unlocking all the characters is terribly annoying so far. First 10 guys went pretty much 5&4 they were so horrible.

I agree with him

Although, i haven't stopped playing it. You can't really do much with a golf game to make it different. With football and baseball, you get new players on different teams so on and so forth.

I love it, i wish they would add more real courses, cause the fantasy ones just piss me off. I would get it, but it wont kill you to wait a few for the price to come down

I hear you man with the real courses. Good lord. some of us simple folk will never be able to see Augusta in person. Hell, the least they can do is let me virtually dominate it in a video game.

I will take your advice on waiting. $50 bucks is too rich for me. Especially since I own every one that has come out. So I will wait.

I like how they changed the CPU players during tournaments to better match what you're shooting. First tourney I entered I shot around -54 and lost by 1. My fault as I screwed up about 5 putts down the stretch that I should have made.

I've got it for the PSP, and I have to say that is it much better than the '04 or '05 games. The difference in load times is incredible. I'm just now getting the hang of the new putting, but still have a long way to go.

Once you get the hang of it it's not problem, i sink 40-50 foot putts no problem

How is it on PSP? If I had TW on long road trips, i might not ever get out of the truck!

I'm doing pretty good at the left/right aspect. Just having difficulty judging distance. Any pointers you can give me?

I love it on the PSP, but then again, I haven't seen '06 on the PS2 so I don't know if I can compare the two.

But, I did play the '05 version on the PSP, and the '06 version is much better. Definitely worth buying, IMHO.

I took the PSP to Florida earlier this year on a roadtrip. Let me tell ya, it was more difficult to play while moving than you would think.

Just gotta look at the distance on the bottom right hand side of the green. It will tell you if the hole in sloped down or up. If it's 11 feet to the hole, and 4 inches down, you don't want to use the 20 foot put, go with the 10 and gravity will take care of the rest. If it's a crazy put, don't try to power up to make it up the hill, get it close and set your self up with a 5-10 foot put instead of a 20 foot that rolls past the hole. You will get the hang of it. Only took me a few weeks.

Why is it hard to play? motion sickness, or just too bumpy?

It was just too darn bumpy. Especially with that itty bitty joystick. Trying to move it one "tick" to the left or right was virtually impossible.

I've got the XBOX and PSP version. Obviously, the XBOX version is better and has more to offer, but the PSP version is certainly no slouch. Interfaces are different and the way you advance slightly different, but the PSP has pretty much the same gameplay mechanics.

I will say this...putting on the PSP version is much harder. I really had no problem adjusting to the XBOX version and making my fair share. However, on the PSP, it can be a chore if you aren't paying attention. You'll end up hitting it too hard much of the time because the putting controls are slightly different. I found it annoying at first.

I think the PSP version is harder overall just because of the little nub you use for your swing. This doesn't really bother me as it's still fun, but scores wont be as impressive on the handheld.

My friends and I always create SEC coaches like Jackie Sherrill, Spurrier, Fulmer, and Bryant.
