TIFWIW, we had the same record this time last year than we do now.

... and we still ended up in the Chic-fil-a Bowl, all hope is not lost guys. I think we could end up losing just one game from here on out.

Possible, but I don't see us beating USCjr in Columbia.

We had a better team last year with a bit more talent....not saying we won't make it to a bowl game....I still think we can

UGA - W
ALA - L
SC - L
MEM - W
MISS - W
VAN - W
KEN - L(again....I may change this, it's just how I feel at the moment)

That leaves us at 6-6

SGM, your take is always entertaining. How have your feelings changed about this staff and team so far through 5 games, if at all? Just curious.

Well if we trade Ole miss for usc and still beat memphis, uk, and vandy, and uga, then we will be bowl eligible. I don't think we beat USC but UGA is possible as well as uk and Vandy.

You are more than likely correct. This is probably the best team SOS has had there and the worst shape UT has been in since he's been there.

One of the worst, most sickening things about the LSU loss is what it would have meant for UT's bowl hopes. It would have made 8-4 a realistic possibility and 7-5 maybe even a likelihood.

If UT doesn't get hammered by injuries the rest of the way, 7-5 isn't unrealistic. Even then UT probably would not get a favorable bowl bid but would at least get the extra practice and game experience for the young guys.

The thing that hurts the most to me.... is that IMO, if we would have won this game, we would have been 4-4 going into the last four games of the season. We would have had momentum, and would have blasted Georgia before losing to Bama & SC. Now, we will be lucky to win 5 games. This will be tough to get over, and Georgia will be a tough game for us. Man this hurts.

What on earth has UK done that impressed you that much? UT at least put up a fight vs UF. UK got raped. Their dominant wins were against Akron (a middling at best MAC team) and WKU. They beat L'ville who struggled with both Ark St and FCS EKU (who was just dominated by Chattanooga).

With a young, thin team like UT has right now, any game is loseable. There is always a chance that they'll do something just by inexperience.... like going back on the field when they've been replaced... but UK has not looked like a good football team to date.

I'm still just sick over the LSU game. That would have helped tremendously.

We may beat Kentucky....I just think it's a lot to expect 4 straight wins out of this team...like I said, I may end up changing the way I feel about that game later

I don't really follow that train of thought.

Is Tennessee not good enough to win 4 straight even though the last 4 teams Tennessee faces suck?

You do realize that even though giving a game away to a more talented team in a place as difficult as Death Valley hurts... it isn't as destructive to a team's confidence as losing to an undermanned Colorado team in one of the least intimidating venues in the BCS (52k fans vs nearly 93k@ LSU).

UGA may somehow pull it all together against UT but they look and act like a team in complete disarray. They look alot like UT 2005 to me.

UAB is a team I'd consider as "sucks" and look at that game....what I'm saying is that we could lose any of those games....I just think it will be against Kentucky...you have your opinion, I have mine, leave it at that
