Tidbit from just a vol

And we deserve better fans but here you arr

This is what is funny to me.....

Because I don't agree with you about coaching, you're a better fan?

That is what is great about America, we can have opinions.

Went through this same crap when Dooley was on his way out, y'all bashed us because we seen the writing on the wall then just like we do now. Butch Jones is paid 4 MILLION dollars a year here to WIN, not lose to Vandy and SC and barely escape teams like App State. This is year 4, and we have made no real strides.

Friend, these guys can't be rationalized with. They don't want to hear he got spanked by Dooley, they don't want to hear how he took at 12-1 Cincinnati team to 4-8, they don't want to hear how we were 2 miracles away from being 6-6 this year, they don't want to hear how his "all star" recruiting class has not been developed, they don't want to hear how the college football world is laughing at his shenanigans, and they don't want to hear about how he has a worse record against Vanderbilt than Derek Dooley did. For some reason, they have gone all in with a band geek.

Butch is nowhere near as close to being fired as many of you want to think. Better learn to live with it.

I don't think he'll be fired, I'm hoping his insecure a$$ finally gets wind of how much we loathe him and does what he did at the end of the Vanderbilt game....duck out early.

JAV is well connected and dropped this off today

First, from what I've been told, Butch Jones is a full go at Tennessee. He has kicked the tires at Purdue but there's really no interest there from either side. He's told multiple people that he knows that his best opportunity is the one he already has. I'm sure that there will be more rumors and tire kicking but there's very little chance that he will go elsewhere.

I believe that you will see a better close to recruiting than you might expect and a renewed sense of urgency from the top down. I know that CBJ has told people that he's already reevaluated some of the changes that he made this year and has identified what he sees as success and failure and is already working on a plan for 2017.
Whatever you might think of him, no one works harder than Butch Jones. He is extremely driven.

I also believe, based on several conversations, that CBJ is very serious about bringing in highly regarded assistants to replace anyone who leaves. There will almost certainly be a shared OC position with DeBord coaching the OL and a high profile QB coach. I know that there already has been an informal 3rd party conversation with Helfrich and Applewhite. I believe that both of them would be open to the CO OC idea.

Bob Shoop will be the DC at Tennessee next year. CBJ doesn't want to start over again and Shoop knows that his reputation took a bit of a hit this year. He loves living in Tennessee and he's excited about what can be done with some changes next season.

I've been doubtful about JG as a passer because I've seen him be very inconsistent in that department. Someone I trust very much has relayed to me that he has made a huge leap in the last couple of months specifically. He's really worked very hard to learn the offense and has looked very confident. He's always been an electric runner and now he's rounding into form as a passer. I love QD but if JG keeps improving, especially with a really good QB coach, he's most likely going to be the man.

I've been critical of CBJ this year and I have my doubts still. However, he is the absolute best option for Tennessee for the next couple of years. The worst thing that could happen is for him to leave voluntarily or involuntarily. There isn't anyone who is a viable, better option than Butch right now. No one knows how things will play out. Those who are comparing him to Dooley are foolish and those longing for Kiffin are deluding themselves. The proof will be in the next few weeks as to how the rest of CBJ's tenure will go here. If Bob Shoop is allowed to get coaches of his own choosing and CBJ can attract a young, high profile QB coach, I'll see that as a huge step forward in the evolution of Butch Jones."

I'll be the first to admit I have been critical of Butch and even said he needed to go after the Vandy game. But if he is going to make these changes or even attempt then it shows me he is really willing to do what it takes to win. If he hires a new O line coach as well then I for one am going to give him the chance to prove himself...

I've noticed.

What's funny is we all love the Vols, I mean the last 10-12 years have been AWFUL but yet we are still here. Every Saturday I wake up and put on my Tennessee gear, my kids put on their Tennessee gear. I drive around with my Tennessee Decals and I wave my Tennessee flag PROUD.

Because we don't agree with coaching we're not true fans.

Yep, I do the same. I refuse to settle, not ever going to apologize for that.

If he 'kicked the tires' at lowly little old Purdue, honestly how committed could he be?

Of course TN 'is his best option'. Duh! No program especially a big one thinks he's any good. Unfortunately, he's a terrible option for us.

He will not close well on recruiting for the same reason no good coach is coming to coach with him. He's a lame duck coach.

And the only time I've seen you post is lately and it's all just to twist a knife. I'm not happy either but damn if I'm going continually bash and take shots. It helps nothing

I have been a member on this site for 10 years, I am a piepfitter by trade and do not have time to post 24/7. I read everyday.

Currently got promoted and have more time on my hands due to being in an office setting as opposed to sitting in an oil refinery, but thank you for noticing. :hi:

Which has a greater chance of happening, Helfrich coming to work for Butch Jones or that Zimbabwe Prince putting $250k in my bank account after I gave him my account number via a very convincing email?

Helfrich and Butch know each other well. Doesn't mean he comes here but they are familiar with one another

I get it. Have fun

For the record, you didn't used to post like this

Maybe stop mixing and matching to suit what fits your point.

You say we're better than Florida because we beat them head to head, even though they ended up with a better record.

But we're better than SC and Vandy even though they beat us head to head, because we ended up with a better record.
