Tidbit from just a vol

When we can beat our opponents, I'll bash them.

Not like I'm calling Jones out as a man, I'm calling out the fact that he's not a good coach. I haven't attacked his family or said anything that has been negative towards the University.

You can block people if what we post really bothers you that much but....

You need people like us, so you can point your F****** fingers and say that's the bad guy.

Classy

You do know that overall record is not what is used to compete for the division championship, right?...Also, Florida will be 9-4, not 8-4.

Actually Florida will be 8-4 after Sat.they didn't make up their OOC game.

You have a serious problem if any of that is true

Yeah, i do.. its all true.. i told my wife, its worse this year cause we are supposed to be good, which made the losses harder to deal with. at least when i knew we were gonna suck i was prepared. And didnt take it so hard.

"Kicked the tires at Purdue but there's no interest there from either"

Interesting way to describe it.

Don't do this often, but I call BS on this. If he was out looking around, then Hart should have locked him out.

JAV is well connected and dropped this off today

First, from what I've been told, Butch Jones is a full go at Tennessee. He has kicked the tires at Purdue but there's really no interest there from either side. He's told multiple people that he knows that his best opportunity is the one he already has. I'm sure that there will be more rumors and tire kicking but there's very little chance that he will go elsewhere.

I believe that you will see a better close to recruiting than you might expect and a renewed sense of urgency from the top down. I know that CBJ has told people that he's already reevaluated some of the changes that he made this year and has identified what he sees as success and failure and is already working on a plan for 2017.
Whatever you might think of him, no one works harder than Butch Jones. He is extremely driven.

I also believe, based on several conversations, that CBJ is very serious about bringing in highly regarded assistants to replace anyone who leaves. There will almost certainly be a shared OC position with DeBord coaching the OL and a high profile QB coach. I know that there already has been an informal 3rd party conversation with Helfrich and Applewhite. I believe that both of them would be open to the CO OC idea.

Bob Shoop will be the DC at Tennessee next year. CBJ doesn't want to start over again and Shoop knows that his reputation took a bit of a hit this year. He loves living in Tennessee and he's excited about what can be done with some changes next season.

I've been doubtful about JG as a passer because I've seen him be very inconsistent in that department. Someone I trust very much has relayed to me that he has made a huge leap in the last couple of months specifically. He's really worked very hard to learn the offense and has looked very confident. He's always been an electric runner and now he's rounding into form as a passer. I love QD but if JG keeps improving, especially with a really good QB coach, he's most likely going to be the man.

I've been critical of CBJ this year and I have my doubts still. However, he is the absolute best option for Tennessee for the next couple of years. The worst thing that could happen is for him to leave voluntarily or involuntarily. There isn't anyone who is a viable, better option than Butch right now. No one knows how things will play out. Those who are comparing him to Dooley are foolish and those longing for Kiffin are deluding themselves. The proof will be in the next few weeks as to how the rest of CBJ's tenure will go here. If Bob Shoop is allowed to get coaches of his own choosing and CBJ can attract a young, high profile QB coach, I'll see that as a huge step forward in the evolution of Butch Jones."

Not buying this.

My bad I misrepresented my feelings. I'm for UT. This board was called out by players for not supporting the team.

What I like or don't like is really irrelevant. But when it impacts the team I root for, then I have some skin in the game. If it was just fans like me reading some of the garbage on here, who gives a rip? But when recruits and players read this and it turns them off or away, them maybe the bashers and backstabbers that are Loyal Vol Fans would rethink what they are doing and realize that bashing and backstabbing is not very Loyal.

But just to set the record straight, I don't need bashers and backstabbers so I can point my finger at them. I figure some don't think that the team or recruits ever get on here so they bash and backstab without even considering that it may not be helping the program.

I don't think those that bash and backstab the program are helping and some think that it does.

Let Tabor talk trash about our team, why should our own Loyal Vol Fans do it for him?

Man I know I'm no writer, but is that so hard to convey?

Let our rivals bash us but our own fans maybe could stop.

The last thing I said was a joke.

It's from scarface.

Should of said last time they were looking he could of had the job, turned them down to come here, so some there were pissed and still are. They don't want him

Butch is 2-2 versus Vanderbilt and people think he is going to turn it around by keeping Debord and the OL coach. If Debord is not gone and a new OC in place then we have no chance of going forward. The retirement plan is done. If Shoop is not allowed to remove coaches and bring in his own then he is fighting up hill too and may not have any improvement next year. No doubt Butch works hard, but without changes in his approach to coaching and conditioning then we have seen his best at 8-4.

Did you read the OP?

If Butch is talking co-OC then it shows his unwillingness to make a serious change in his approach. It is admitting that he is not wrong in his approach to being 2-2 vs Vanderbilt. That is what I saw.
