Ticketmaster website is showing no tickets available for CFB, even singles. Maybe they will get the idea that the UT and VT fans want this game...

I knew it was going to be high demand. Didn't see it selling out before it was even officially announced. Any idea as to how many tickets Ticketmaster had to sell? I would bet that the vast majority of the tickets sold are Tennessee fans, since the only media outlets to confirm the game are The Tennessean and the Knoxville News-Sentinel.

I would guess that their ticket allotment was minuscule at best. Consider both Universities, Corporate posers, the News and Media plus Atlanta officials. They would have been lucky to get 500 to sell.

Maybe the Chick bowl will realize we're ready to travel to Atlanta and make sure that UT gets there instead of UGA.

Dead on...not sure about the exact number but I can assure yoiu there's no need to panic. There will be CHEAP tickets available in ATL.

I have no experience with bowl game tickets and whether they are cheap and available on the streets before the game.

I will say that if the matchup goes off as planned: UT v. VT, there will be a huge demand for tickets from fans in East Tennessee and Southwestern Virginia. And they will travel in droves.

I personally know of multiple people that have never been to a UT football game that are looking for 4-8 tickets to this game because we are playing VT. I also have multiple friends on the other side that have already bought 8-ticket packages for this game. These are people dead set on attending the game come hell or high water. They aren't buying to resell.

If we play VT, Southwestern Virginia will be emptied out and a caravan of both UT and VT fans will be in ATL on NYE. You can book it.

This is the most heated rivlary of teams that never plays each other. I think tickets are going to be swooped up by fans of both teams. My opinion is better safe than sorry.

I submitted for a reservation thru uttix.com because they're only $60-80. If you go to StubHub, Craigslist or any of the other ticket sites, the tickets are $95 up to $2000. Plus, you'll likely end up sitting with the Hokies fans. If you reserve thru uttix.com, if we don't make the CFA for some reason, you're not committed to buy the tickets. It's yet to be seen where the seats are, but I'm pretty confident they won't be bad.

Are you sure it's sold out? Could they maybe wait to sell more/ most of the tickets till the teams are both actually announced?

That's what I was thinking. Ticketmaster is notorious for only releasing certain ticket sections at a time. Usually, they don't release the best seats until the last moment.

Ticketmaster couldn't have had many tickets available. I looked at their website very soon after it became known that Auburn was headed to the Outback. The only tickets that came up were in the corner of the end zone, upper deck. Worst seats in the house.

That's what they do. They try to sell the worst seats first, and then slowly open up better seats. I've been screwed over before on buying tickets for concerts because of that crap.

Dave, are you implying that ticketmaster would do anything unethical? Bite your tongue!
