Unfortunately, I have a Rotary golf tournament this weekend down here in Florida, otherwise, I would be headed to KTown this weekend for the game. Just curious though, are these ticket prices fairly standard for a Vol game nowadays? (price shown is per ticket) And of course w a HUUUUUGE win, the price of admission would be priceless, right?? Go Vols - kick that Dawg back to Athens!!

It's normal, and it's a racket, orchestrated by Ticketmaster and the schools finally teaming up across the board. The internet has allowed them to ratchet price elasticity to its limits.

The days of reasonably-priced tickets are solid gone. Never coming back. Never. And all the people selling the tickets are good with it.

Those are crazy! Makes me think about selling mine but I want to be at this game.
Me too.

don’t feel the best (arthritis) and usually in pain throughout the game. But, I want to take advantage of the matchup and enjoy as many games possible.

It’s easy to take things for granted - so I will be there.

Go Vols! Get the dub!

So are all the people buying the tickets

people are in shock but this is what tickets cost when your team is actually good again. yes those prices are high but this is the marquis home game of the year and both teams are highly ranked and Gameday is in town. this is the best game of the week in the country, its checker neyland and people feel like Tennessee could actually win this game and be a part of something epic a la Bama in 2022.

I'm not shocked by those prices although I am glad I have to be in Austin for work and don't have the temptation to buy them 😂

The only reason I'm going despite those prices is because my father is insisting on going. Otherwise, I'd save the money and just watch it on my iPhone and augment the crowd noise from outside the stadium with a couple of those air horns that Fred Beyer, Mook Spud, and some of those guys set off in public libraries in their YouTube videos.

A fool and his money are easily parted.

I am not sure how the average Joe affords Tennessee football tickets anymore. Average me usually goes to a November game against Vandy or a nonconference.

I would LOVE to be at this one, but I’m like you: NM State is more of my budget anymore. I hate it.

Yep, and those prices are the lowest in those sections and in most cases it’s a single. There are some seats around our the are listed at more than a grand each. The ticket holder posts them and if they get it they sell them, if they don’t sell they go to the game.
Mrs Wireless made it very clear that we’re going no matter how much we could make and if we pull off the win that she’ll be back on the field with the cords like she was against Bama

If people would just stop buying them, they could come back. I say that after spending more to go to last week’s game than I spent to go to 4 conference games in 2018.

Actually doesn't have much to do with it. The "delivery system" really doesn't matter, and there are other aftermarket sites to get them from (amazing in 2025, I know).

Basic Econ buddy.

Sadly, I can't see that happening. Everyone in the chain between the school and the fans wants a cut, either through donations or talent fees or "convenience fees" or "order processing fees" or whatever else they can gin up to increase their take.

And if there are people willing to pay it, the price will not come down. It certainly seems there are people with enough disposable income willing to pay. So long as there's enough of those people, and Tennessee keeps winning at the rate they're winning, I can't see the demand - or the prices - falling.

Where I have reserved parking, Church Street United Metholistic church has some non resered parking in their back lots for $50 cash. Gates Open at 7am and any spaces will sell out FAST as we learned in 2022 before reserved parking. Turn on W Hill Ave and unreserved is on left, reserved on right. In 2022 we parked at Hilton hotel, getting out was a mess due to street closures, etc after game and used WAZE to get out of Knoxville. Finding parking wI'll not be as easy as ETSU. Should be electric atmosphere!
