Yet, they end the season by losing to an average Alabama team and getting humiliated in the first round of the NIT by a team TN should have beat by 30.

Who cares who we beat in the final 4 we are sitting at home watching move on and wait for next year

Texas A&M beat Bama in football during the regular season. The can brag about that but they were sitting home when Bama won the BCS championship.

TN is like TAM in that respect . They are sitting home watching the big games.

I hope coach martin watches these games and sees what everyone else sees! Quick guards are unstopable in the college game. Louisville two quick guards are unstopable! We need to sign some 6 ft to 6ft 2 inch guards with great quickness and let them drive to the bucket.

It is a long time until signing day. We don't know where their class will be. Time will tell.
They are also the only team in talent rich Texas that is a member of the best conference in football. That along should drastically help them in recruiting.

We don't have to wait. Their class this year was outstanding. This year's class benefited from their success.

But according to CCM he does not need a true point guard to run his offensive scheme effectively.

By saying, "as usual", you mean twice. Tennessee may deserve better, but let's not pretend like this is a long-standing yearly occurrence. Let's also not forget that we are getting what we paid for, & at the time he was hired, no one worth his salt wanted to sniff this job because of the potential NCAA mess that lay ahead.

Give the guy a third year and then make your judgements.

Yeah. I honestly don't mind new and different opinions. I just don't like the basketball forum overrun with negativity based on surface appearance.

Lately, this place has become nearly intolerable as a result of being inundated with people coming to piss and moan over not making the tournament, and just assigning failure to this season without looking deeper into why we struggled.

And that's not to abolish all blame from this coaching staff. They have struggled with some things and I think Martin is learning on the job to an extent, but the view by many is that this season was an absolute failure, and it's just not true.

Like I said, CCM may fall flat on his face in the end, but we paid a relative bargain price for a coach with little experience. Facing potential NCAA trouble no less. Memphis did the same thing with Pastner, who had even less NCAA head coaching experience. He sits on a hotbed of local talent and has only made the tournament as a result of winning the auto-bid from a lousy conference.

Seriously? We have a legitimate shot at a moral national championship, and you guys just want to write the season off as over?!?

Doesn't matter...we went to the NIT.

Also, The Shockers or nobody else in the country probably cares or remembers that they lost to Tennessee early in the season.
