GREAT POST!! I hope you are 1000000% correct!! Many of the "Old roster" won't know how to act, they just got a REAL Football coach. I wonder how many of the champions of life will say good-bye, you know, the great recruits butch gave us? The sooner the guys that want to play Tennessee Football get their numbers called the better off we'll be.:hi:Old system will be long long gone...good riddance....
The delay has been too long already
I'm telling you right now I think JP will lay it on the line to start with....walk the line or hit the road...he will make a player out of them or a transfer imo...this guy isnt taking any lip....
This time we probably do have one of the best coaching staffs in america....they will spot who can play which postion and plug them in there....the fans and media will not have to wonder why more talented players are sitting on the bench....
These guys have been hired and paid to win NOW
They know they need the biggies to start with and are selling them on instant playing time
I THINK A NEW DAY HAS ARRIVED IN TENNESSEE FOR TENNESEE FOOTBALL
and we are going to see the improvements immediately just watch and see
Thing was, under Wilcox we played pretty decently in the 4-3. Transition usually entails a STEP BACK. We have no room to go backwards. Why wait and suck anyway? :dunno:
there is nothing on offense or defense to keep..
Its a whole new ball game and just like a new ball team
I doubt we recognize very much of the same stuff about this team going into the 2018 season.
New systems on offense and defense..thankfully
We can just call it plug and play...nothing to lose going into 2018...play for it all every game...and don't worry about the kids being able to learn...Pruitt defense played it pretty simple anyway...see and react...no more defensive lineman playing 2 yards off the ball...no more defensive lineman waiting to catch a offensive linemans block
THE DAYS OF TENNESSEE VOLS UNDERPERFORMING ARE OVER....IMO...
beginning 2018 season will be a different team altogether...
Must've not watched very many 3-4 D-linemen. Their job is usually, specifically to occupy blockers.
There are also 4-3 teams that play read and react more than penetrate. There's benefits and downfalls to both philosophies. I prefer the DL to penetrate into the backfield but it makes you vulnerable to misdirection/screens/trap. It can allow the play to get behind you, which is why some don't like it.and I guess you missed the fact that Tennessee plays a 4-3 and not a 3-4.....
so it is easy to see I was speaking of Tennessee's D line poor play in 2017...not much pressure of penetration into the offensive backfield this year...well our record speaks for itself
