Three Running Backs

Are you calling Poole a stud because he broke some long runs against our 3rd team defense, or did he actually accomplish something against the 1st team? If his fumbles Saturday are not a sign of a larger ball security problem, I think that Oku will be much more in the mix than I had thought previously - he will battle Brown early, but I'm not sure his body can keep up at this point. Oku will becomes a bigger special teams player than RB by mid-season, IMO.

Poole averaged like 9 YPC against our first team D on Saturday.

And his ball security problems are nothing compared with Oku, Nuke, and Teague.

I have not watched any scrimmages, but I remember reading an article recently saying poole didn't create much but got what was there, and that Brown and Oku could create plays from nothing. Idk if this is BS or what but I remember reading this somewhere in this forum. haha.

I believe Hardesty is clearly #1. He has been since spring. Kiffin is so impressed with him, he is limiting his carries now to keep him fresh and healthy for the season. The same way he is limiting Berry in scrimmages. I also believe Brown will be the #2 back. Kiffin is very impressed with his size, speed, work ethic, and attitude. He talks about it almost every time he is asked about Brown. You can tell he believes he is the back of the future. He is going to want to get him as many real game reps as possible, IMO. The #3 back is the real question if you ask me. If Poole proves he can perform just as well against the #1 defense as he has the #3, then he will definitely get some carries and Oku will probably be the odd man out for now. But, If Poole can't do it against the #1 defense, then I think Oku will be #3.

i agree, the first two are easy: Hardesty is #1, he is staying rested; Brown is #2. If this offense is like the NFL then you always have a "3rd" down back. One who can catch and run, that means Oku. That puts Poole watching but Hardesty can't stay healthy for the year and Poole will get some carrries, JMO
