Today was the scariest day yet. I got a call from my older sister. Melissa was unresponsive. They couldn't get her to wake up. They rushed her down for an emergency cat scan. They feared another stroke while she slept.
Everyone feared the worst. I rushed to the hospital, expecting to watch my sister be taken off life support. Tears in my eyes as I'm running into the hospital, I finally get upstairs to her room in the icu, just to see her sitting there, awake.
My heart nearly stopped beating. A great surprise. She is far from out of the woods, and she can't move the entire left side of her body right now. But she's awake. I'll take the victory wherever I can get it right now.
I'm not real sure this ends well, but every day she wakes up is a good thing.
I appreciate you all more than I can express.
