Thoughts on whether Chubb will play Saturday, or not.

At this point I almost think it would be beneficial for us if Chubb does play.

Trying to utilize a 50% Chubb would likely result in wasted downs for them.

I think Chubb plays and will play well. UGA always seem to have good RBs. Shoop will have his hands full with the UGA RBs. But I fully expect a big orange beatdown regardless if Chubb plays or not.

He will play just long enough to go out...

So then Tennessee can be blamed for his injury.

We need to remember that Georgia won ten games last year. They did that without really having a decent QB on the roster, plus Chubb missed half the season. They have recruited extremely well and have eight 5-star players on their roster.

With, or without Chubb, UGA is always loaded at running back. On Saturday afternoon, the Vols will be in a serious fight. If both teams play their 'A' game, I think the Vols win. But, without Kirkland, JRM, and Sutton...it will be a closely contested hard fought game.

I believe he plays. There was video on twitter someone posted of him walking to the locker room at half time of the Ole Miss game and he looked fine.

Let them tell it, their roster is the equivalent of Vandy's. You have to remember they have an entirely new coaching staff. New defensive philosophy, new offensive philosophy that does not seem to mesh. They have a stable of 5 star backs but have a OC that likes to throw the ball around. The line play is even worse. Last year is last year. WGWTFA!!!!!

The star #'s between the Georgia & Vandy rosters are not even close. Georgia has had Top-10 classes for years. The Vandy recruiting classes are closer to the Top 50-75 range. Georgia is loaded with talent. Admittedly, they do seem to be still sorting out the new schemes and such. But, it will be a fight! I promise you that.

Kirby Smart gives update on Nick Chubb's ankle injury | Sports | redandblack.com

How can Chubb be wearing a boot & participating in running drills, at the same time? I just got out of a boot from breaking a bone in my foot and there is no way I could just rip my boot off and commence to doing running drills! Thoughts VN?

Those boots are typically precautionary "therapy" for guys with tweaked or sprained ankles. Designed to take weight and pressure off. We've had guys wearing them on the Vol Walk who then go out and play 2 hours later.

Chubb will play IMO. I don't think he'll have as good a day as Michel or be on the field as long. They are very deep in quality RBs but it will do them no good. I WANT Chubb healthy and to play and no excuses when we beat them, lots of knee clacking again by VN posters, for God's sakes some of you cats need testosterone shots ... daily. It's been an interesting year watching the great one behind a marginal OL having a not so great year so far. Chicken or egg, great OL/great year or hosed OL/hosed year, that is the question methinks for Mr. Chubb? Time will tell but he aint got much time to pull this season out, just sayin'

i have a hard time believing that he's not going to play. not sure if he'll make it the whole game, but Chubb's a vet, his main priority right now is rehab, he's not one that absolutely has to practice to be productive.

it may be a JRM situation....try it and see.......but i expect him to be on the field in their 1st possession.

won't matter...he's lost a step after his injury anyway...sad deal, but football can be a nasty master...:)

GO VOLS!

Watching him against UNC, I would have bet $s to donuts he had not lost anything, UNTIL his last TD run. A UNC DB caught him from behind at the end zone, old Chubb, nobody could do that IMO. I knew then he had lost a step or two, couple that with poor OL play, he's having a not so good season so far that started with promise, could end in mediocrity. He has 422 yds on the season through 4 games, but one of those was the >200 plus game against UNC. He's struggling since and that is unlikely to change Saturday.
