It seems like to me everyone is writing UGA off, even their own fans. They are one DC away from being an elite team again. Don't forget about all that talent. Including Murray, all the freshman receivers and Charles. They will be damn good again in two years...probably much improved next year as well. Richt ain't going no where, because unlike Fulmer, he has continued to stock the cupboards with talent. Their offense has always been more than fine and this is a rebuilding year for them.

Martinez is gone soon and that will make a world of difference. I still think they will even have a decent year this season. Let's not forget they beat a pretty good Arkansas team and needed a miracle from LSU to lose that one. Seems like to me people can't fathom us being that good and like to think UGA is all of a sudden a cream puff. The difference was Crompton and the receivers making plays.

Not to mention Monte's D is obviously better suited for traditional offenses. If Crompton and crew played like that all the time, we would have the best offense in the SEC. Don't listen to all these naysayers, we crushed a good team and CAN beat Bama.

Hell, people talk about talent gaps. Give me a freakin break...the gap isn't that big. Utah managed to do it with good coaching and execution....we have much more talent than Utah and excellent coaching as well.

How would you know about UGA, you didn’t watch the game (although the game thread proves that you did)?

If Crompton starts against UGA. I will not watch the game. The fans deserve a QB change. Kiffin is being stubborn beyond belief. I have never witnessed a QB play so bad and not get benched. I am speechless. We are literally forfeiting our season. At this point who cares if Crompton never gets his confidence back????? We need a change.

I was just spouting. I would never miss a UT game. After rewatching the AU game, I realized, Crompton actually played decent in that game and got much better toward the end. I will admit, though, I NEVER thought he and the receivers would click like they did last Saturday, but now I'm a believer in him again. Whatever Kiffin and the coaches are doing with these guys, it's finally starting to show.

I like the analysis. I am not sure Georgia will rebound much this year though after what has happened but do think they will be back strong next year. I still see them losing to Florida, Auburn, and probably GT.

As far as we go, it is VERY difficult to stop the run AND play action roll-out at the same time as long as you have a QB capable of making the throws and good decisions when no one is open. I think Bama will load the box to stop the run and rely on one-on-one man coverage to stop the pass. I'm afraid they have much better personel to do that than UGA did.

What was all that talk about Crompton being the next Shuler? I haven't seen any scrambling tendencies from him. He looked good rolling out, though. I believe he could gain some positive yardage on his feet if he took off more when no one is open.

Monte's ability to defend the pro-set offense that Bama runs will hold them to under 20 points.

If what we have seen the last 5 quarters with the offense holds form, then we will have opportunities to score.

Bama and TN have historically been close games.

Our chances to win this game fall completely on our special teams. If we don't make progress, and I mean huge progress, over the next two weeks. Forget about it.

Imagine all the recruiting pub if we beat Bama. Even ESPN will be all over us. We will be the new it team if we win out much like UGA was in 2007.

ST donated 16 points to UGA in the process of an embarrassing drubbing. If the Vols put some double-wides in the middle and slow down the wing men, KO and punt coverage will improve. No team in the SEC is "untouchable" - IMHO

ST gave up nine points...the other TD was an interception return.

I personally think Bama is a little overrated. I saw some weaknesses in their win over overrated piss, especially on offense. I think Monte will bottle up their O almost as badly as he did UGA.

UF is the only team right now worthy of being tabbed as a truly elite team. They are good enough right now to beat anyone in the nation without even using half of their offensive attack. I am very glad we don;t have to face them anymore this season. Tebow running the spread is just unstoppable.

Nothing would please me more than to see our Vols beat Bammer on their own field. That's my heart. My head says that Bammer leads us in every national statistical catagory save one. Can we win? You bet. Vegas would probably give our chances a 5 or 10% chance of pulling it off. I won't get my hopes up on what if's. I just hope we go down and give a good showing.......win or loose.

I don't think Monte's difficulties vs Aub were simply because they are a spread team.

Because the WR's and JC weren't "clicking", Aub had a 10 min TOP advantage and 10 more plays even though they went into clock killing mode at the end. That's worth at least 100 yards if it had been roughly equal. If UT had held onto the ball like they did vs UGA then the D isn't tired at the end... and UT ends up with a TOP and play total advantage.

Interesting stat I ran across. UT avg'd over 8 yards per play vs WKU. It went down to 3.0 vs UCLA and then 4.1 vs UF. Ohio is where I said the O and in particular JC began to play better. Versus Ohio, 5.5 YPP. Against Aub it was 5.6 YPP and UGA it was 7.4.

To give perspective, Cincy leads the nation with 7.3 ypp with UF at 7.2 in spite of having 5.1 vs UT and LSU.

UT is now tied for 44th nationally with 6 other teams. They are 5th in the SEC behind UF, Auburn, Ark, and Bama.

Yards per play is a very good measure of offensive efficiency that accounts for pretty much everything else... ie. completion pct, yds per catch, yards per rush,...

Very nice trend for UT.

Those are very interesting stats and proff that the offense is steadily developing more chemistry. It would be amazing if we could continue to up it against Bama. Considering the quality of their D, I'm predicting around 5.5 ypp, which would be a good feat.
