Thoughts on UF vs Tennessee

With what I have seen from Florida's O this year. I believe the Vols will keep it close.
Vols -28
UF - 20
:D

i guess we aren't doing too badly as WR/TE Hines caught a TD while playing that Hernandez-hybrid spot in the opener and starting TE Jordan Reed caught a TD in his first game back from injury yesterday.

Call O what you want, but he isn't a TE, Jordan has the talent just is so new to the position.

The point i was trying to make with that post was there WASN'T going to be 100,000 plus vol fans in the stadium because of how many gator fans that were going to be there.:good!:

Talking about two years ago?

Hernandez wasn't much of one either. he was primarily an H-back which is what we're mostly talking about in Florida's offense where for the most part the fullback and tight end positions are roughly interchangeable. hence why Gerald Christian is sort of playing fullback too right now.

for the in-line blocking duties in power sets we mostly bring out an extra tackle like we've done with Trautwein, Nixon, Patchan and even Silberman in the opener.

Ya know, Thats the thing about us Gator fans.. We dont give up on our team when things dont look so good.... Ive noticed alot of the Vol fans would rather give up and start watching tennis...

Got that right. Vol fans would've been watching tennis or golf by the end of the 1st quarter of the Miami OH game...... Through all kinds of weather, we'll all stick together for F-L-O-R-I-D-A!!!!

Sweet. At least we now know you're willing to just make stuff up.

UT fans are way down. Hopefully the team doesn't have this kind of emotional hangover. If they do, it will be ugly. If we can play the whole game like last week's first half, we can win. Unfortunately, I see more running out of gas late. Vols take a 16-10 lead into the 4th but fall 24-16.

I don't think Tennessee scores more than 10 on our defense. All we gotta do is stack 8 in the box and you all are dead.

During the Zook years the fanbase was beginning to tire of 7-5 seasons and I remember seeing BHG fairly empty on several occasions during that time.

That's as may be, but 16 really isn't all that many. After all, Miami and South Florida both put up more than 10. And we were inside the 30 five times against Oregon. A big play on defense or special teams could easily put us in range for FGs even if we aren't moving the ball too well.

Traditionally after a humiliating loss, Tennessee has a slow start the following week. It's been that way for several years during the CPF era. It's unlikely they will be able to rise to the occasion and be competitive with UF for the entire game.

Once UF is able to pull away, they will begin to pour it on. Since UF has dropped in the polls for two weeks consecutively, Coach Meyer will be looking to make a statement and improve his teams ranking. Unfortunately this will be at UT's expense and he will run it up as much as possible on a young and undermanned team.

Meyer = Great coach with minimal ethics and zero class.

Not being a ahole but I think you answered your own comment on why Meyer (or any other coach ) will run up the points as much as possible. Dont score enough points when you are expected to, then you drop in the polls... But this is just my opinion which means NOTHING

Problem is that Florida's offensive weaknesses are either quickly fixable (a new Center snapping the ball, new wideouts developing chemistry with their QB) or very similar to Oregon's (erratic deep passing game). People talked about Oregon's backs being fast; well they are not even in the same speed league as Florida.

Bigger problem is that our D will not be able to move the ball at all against Florida (a far, far superior defense to an Oregon defense that scored as many TDs as our offense did); we'll give up bad field position and time of possession all game; and Meyer needs a big score to placate the pollsters that dropped him in the rankings so far this season, so will not call off the dogs like he did the last two seasons.
